I think the update to RevE will solve SOME problems, but not all. The CAT likely WILL fail, and it's a matter of time, but I think it's solved some sensitivity issues. I just hope I'm not on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere when it fails.

For now: blissful ignorance of what's to come.
800 miles, sheesh...I hope my lights up FAST...I want to get this totally fix...dont want the issue to show up in two years! LOL... and agreed about not being in the middle of nowhere when it fails...

Yeah, it probably depends on how severe the CAT is at the time of your flash. If it's just getting bad, then it may take a while before failure. If it's already really bad (say, how ED's has been in this thread), then you're talking immediate issues.

Who knows. It's a waiting game.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

Well looks like I'm the newest member of the P20EE club. I've paid my dues with three visits to the dealer now. First two involved the flashes mention previously and the third allowed for the order of a new cat. Order was placed about a week and a half ago at this point with no eta on delivery. I had just over 14k on the odometer when the MIL appeared.

Frustrating that they can't be a bit more proactive on these but I'm glad to hear there haven't been any reports of it returning to owners that have the new cat

Can you keep driving the car while you wait for the new Cat?

Yes. P20EE only lights MIL. In fact most dealers will ask you to NOT reset the DTC so that they can have a successful claim when they install the CAT. Only bad issues with it is that when you have an active MIL you can't remote start and you will fail automatic emissions testing.

Welcome to the club, John. You're in good company.

I agree, that it's too bad that the dealers aren't skipping to the end, rather than spending money going through the process of elimination. Everyone knows it's cat failure. Just fix it!

Here's hoping your wait isn't too long.

As for me, I'm at 8k now, about 1k since the most recent Rev/Flash. No MIL yet. But I know the cat's gonna fail. It's just a matter of time.

I agree. I wish dealers would listen and do proper research before just doing computer flashes etc in hopes that they would fix the problem. Biggest issue right now is the lack of parts. My sister is still waiting for her new CAT to arrive. CEL is still on. Avg fuel economy is around 19 which is horrible for her Jeep. My brother has a 2015 with the 3.0 and he's averaging 32 according to the trip computer, so take that with a grain of salt.

I would venture to guess that this isn't really a dealership issue. I'm sure Jeep has said that they need to attempt certain repairs/flashes in a certain order to authorize the CAT replacement. The flashes must have fixed the problem in a certain number of vehicles or worked in their testing. It is all about cost containment on warranty issues.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

And...I'm back.

Second P20EE at 8100 miles (about 1000 miles after the first, in which they gave me the flash to Rev. E). Just got a call from the Service Manager and they agreed to replace the CAT with the revised part...which is on backorder.

Car was dropped off late Saturday, so they didn't check until now, and no loaners on that day. Wife will pick that up this afternoon. Here's hoping for a Grand...or a 4x at least.

That would suggest that I still have a quite a few miles to go! Also got the REV E update not too long ago...

Just jump in your Jeep and go! LOL.

I'm just glad that they didn't beat around the bush again relative to the CAT replacement. It would seem that since you'll be going in for the second P20EE, like me, that they are now just coming to terms.

Almost makes me wish I got completely new systems like ExcusionDiesel, and some of the other guys. That said, at least I know it'll all be done when the new CAT is in place.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

Well I joined the cat needing a replacement group this week. While heading to work on Monday it popped up saying I had 160 miles before it wouldn't restart. Stopped by the dealer on the way home and sure enough the p20ee. I just had the rev e update last Friday and knew this was coming. No word on how long of course but I'm sure it will be a month or so. They put me in an explorer rental so not bad but it's no SFU. Hopefully crysler wakes up to the issue at some point and picks up the pace on these replacement parts.
