Fix one issue and create another....that's been my experience with dealer service in the past. I'm hoping this time will be different.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

After 23 days without the vehicle, the new catalytic converter finally went in and the P20EE code is gone and 50 miles of test driving was supposedly done by the dealer. HOWEVER, the countdown continues with only 47 miles remaining until no restart. They confirmed a REGEN while it was in the shop. Chrysler told them to disconnect the battery over night and see if it clears...

That sounds like the good old IT standby of "how many times did you restart your computer?"

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

Chrysler's last piece of advice was "drive it at 55-60 mph for 40-50 minutes and the countdown until no restart should go away." The dealer, after 25 days with the vehicle, was too busy to get to it today, but was going to send it home with one of the mechanics that lived and hour away and see what happens. With 22 miles remaining until no restart (I dropped it off with 98), I wasn't keen on that plan. Since they were too busy, I told them I was free and they handed me the keys along with their curtesy towing number and I headed off. You can acknowledge the countdown by pressing ok, but from 200-100 miles remaining it will reappear every 5 miles and every 2 miles from 100 down. It was a nerve racking trip every 2 miles from 22, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12.... And that was it. No fanfare, no chime, no REGEN in progress, just no more caution. I can only assume it had to do with drive cycles and mileage.

In the end, the overall fix for my P20EE ended up being a new catalytic converter (under warranty). I still believe it was simply a sensor within that system, but at least I finally have my car back.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

That's welcome news, Koko, and I certainly hope your ownership experience from here on is complete bliss. You certainly deserve a change of fortune! Your story has been very unsettling for those of us who are first time owners of a Chrysler product (in my case it's my first American car), and who purchased despite impassioned warnings from concerned friends. I even delayed selling my previous vehicle until I have more confidence in my Jeep.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

I got a call today that the DEF pump that Chrysler suggested changing has arrived and would be swapped out "soon". I'm still convinced it may be the NOx sensor buy I guess reduced DEF delivery or bad Cat would have the same net affect. We'll see soon enough.

That's good info on clearing the mileage countdown. I'll let my dealer know what to expect.

I got the same error yesterday. Assumed old/bad DEF. So I drained tank and added new DEF. I cleared the code and started the Jeep... no more issues.

How did you drain the tank? I couldn't find a way.

I'm still driving a minivan while waiting on a replacement brake master cylinder. They have replaced the DEF pump but can't test drive to confirm the fix. I'm not happy...but my dealer is treating me well.
