Installed GDE tune... not really noticing a difference... anyone else?

I put the GDE hot tune in the other day, and I was expecting to really feel the torque difference, but I don't really notice much of a difference. I'm not sure if the MPG is improved because I didn't do a road trip prior to the tune, but with the tune installed I got 34MPG hand calculated driving about 60mph all highway cruise control with the A/C off.

Thoughts?

How are you not sure if the fuel economy is improved? You got 34 mpg...

I mean, it might feel a tiny bit faster, but it wasn't like eye opening. My other car is a viper so i might not be easily excitable.. to be fair..

Well, I was doing 55-65, with no a/c, and only the tinies throttle inputs, so really really trying for high MPG, can a stock jeep get that?

Re: Installed GDE tune... not really noticing a difference... anyone else?

Just installed mine a few days ago. Subjectively, I can feel the difference in the torque/power curves, but it's subtle. WOT is impressive, but I hardly ever ran the Jeep WOT before the swap, so it's hard for me to say there's a huge difference. Progression through the power curve seems to be smoother, but that may just be the placebo effect, like when you drop in an expensive aftermarket air filter ("Oooooooooohhhh...")

The biggest differences I note are the reduced turbo lag from a stop and the added engine braking, which are both sweeeeeeeet...

My DEF level indicator still hasn't settled down to the level shown before the swap: it went from about 1/4 tank to 2/3 tank after the swap; today it was reading about 2/5 tank...

I've only driven about 100 miles on it, but my EVIC is showing about 27.5 mpg mixed around town driving, where I normally average 24.5 - 26 mpg.

Picked up my travel trailer from the RV repair shop and there seemed to be more huevos in the pull, but I only went 3 miles, mostly flat. I'll find out more in 2 weeks when I have to tackle a couple of 7000 foot climbs in The Sierra.

So far, I'm likin' the change!

I've not seen stock getting over 30. Before the tune my highest highway was 29. I put up 34 mpg over a 330 mile trip from door to door. And I'm running Duratracs and a roof rack

Re: Installed GDE tune... not really noticing a difference... anyone else?

I've gotten 34 mpg highway keeping it at the speed limit and I don't have a GDE tune. Mine is a lease and I'm going to get another WK2 Ecodiesel next year so not really doing much to the car aftermarket wise.

Did you hand calculate that?

Re: Installed GDE tune... not really noticing a difference... anyone else?

At 55-60 I get 32 calculated all the time so the GDE tune isn't impressive in that regard. However engine braking and less turbo lag would be worth the install. I will not do this until my 8 year/ 120K mile service contract is up.
