Just got rewarded for my patience :) !

Well, my JGC Overland might be delayed but I just received a $500 Bonus Cash Allowance certificate from Jeep in the mail today

So I'm a happy(er) bunny now

I Emailed the Texas Group buy dealer to see if they install the 3M clear bra and, if they do, that should pay for a goodly portion of it.

Patience is a virtue and all that.......and I'm feeling VERY virtuous at the moment

Dam you must have a good dealer.. Mine has been delayed and delayed, from original 2 months to total of 7-8 months, and I have been offered nothing at all. well done, I think your dealer respects its buyers. :-)

Does the bonus cash certificate have an expiration date? Just curious about how long they give you to use it.

Re: Just got rewarded for my patience :) !

They all have expiration dates on them. It is very hit or miss as to how you get these. Jeep was supposed to correct this issue but seems like that has not happened yet...

Re: Just got rewarded for my patience :) !

FYI - My $500 Certificate expires on June 2nd !

Today, I spoke with the "accessory and aftermarket" guy at the dealership. They want $499 for a front 3M Clear Bra installation and I told him to go ahead with it. So it turns out that Chrysler just paid for my Clear Bra

UPDATE: Just spoke with a nice guy at Norfolk Southern. Evidently, our railcar is due to be hooked up to NS 171 tomorrow morning at 6.00am.
I discovered that NS 171 is the main automotive train from Detroit down to points south, specifically Spring, Texas !

17th March delivery is now looking good but, hopefully, earlier would be better !!

Mine showed up today. Unfortunately 5 weeks after delivery. Well anyway I wish I could have used it.

Out of curiosity, when did you order your JCG & when do you expect it? It's been 12 weeks since my order & no Jeep yet! Patience is indeed a virtue!

Re: Just got rewarded for my patience :) !

12 weeks is way past normal. Usual time frame is about 5-6 weeks. I would be checking with the dealer on this something is just not right...

I totally agree something isn't right. I have been in touch with both Chrysler customer care and the dealer. Both are acting like this is normal & the 8-10 weeks is simply an "estimate". The latest date I received is 3/24. So here I sit & wait!

Re: Just got rewarded for my patience :) !

Here is my timeline :

Ordered 1/22
Built 2/14
Delivered to dealer 3/18 (initial delivery was 3/6).
Most of the back end delay was first, a faulty rail car after the JGC was loaded onto it and, concurrently with that being fixed, the snowstorms in Detroit.

Altogether an interesting and informative experience !

We are picking it up this coming Saturday and we will have a 3M clear bra and extra tinting on the passenger and driver windows installed by the dealer.

The Texas Group Buy has proven to be a very good experience and communications with the dealer concerned have been nothing short of exceptional.

Thank you Shannon !

I feel for you philbytx. You ordered one day before me and I was tracking our cars together as a reference point. Mine was ready on 3/7. The first estimate was 2/23 - which would have been 4 weeks after ordering.

Good to see you are finally getting yours.
