K&N Intake with Intercooler Pipe

I have been searching and doing research regarding a new intake for my Ecodiesel Grand Cherokee. The general information I seem to get is that the AFE is a better choice due to the availability of a dry air filter rather than the oiled K&N, however the new intercooler pipe (without the factory muffler) is very appealing to me. Does anybody have any experience with the K&N intake on the diesel motor? I am new to the diesel world but have always had good luck with oiled filters as long as they are maintained properly. Did you end up buying this? I already have the AFE intake, which I like, but I'd love to be able to buy the K&N intercooler pipe separately now.

I actually ended up ordering the same intake as you. If you email K&N they have a part number for the intercooler pipe and hardware as a kit for about $45 that I plan on doing after I install the intake. How do you like the AFE?

Re: K&N Intake with Intercooler Pipe

I like the AFE, no problems. I like the dry filter better than an oiled K&N, plus AFE came out first so that's what I went with. The added sound is nice. It's not a normal turbo whistle but it's something at least. I actually just ordered the intercooler pipe through K&N today. About $170 with tax. I'll have it installed in a week or two.

I just got an email from them and this is what they quoted for the pipe and hardware only set-up:
Tube 27625s $102.89
Coupler 5-255 $14.99
Hardware pack k-631570 $43.99
I think the hardware pack has extra parts that aren't used but the kit is still set at the full price. So expect $162 plus shipping and tax.

Re: K&N Intake with Intercooler Pipe

Cant stand k&n... and $180 for that 1 pipe??? I would just get ahold of cb engineering and ask him to send his pipes... A full set, maybe $400? Ahh, no brainer...
Do yourselves a favor and go with afe
