Drove to my office just fine yesterday. An hour later went out to the Jeep to run to the new warehouse I'm moving to, Jeep is dead. 13.4 volts but push the damn start button and nothing happens. Wife brought me the other remote, same story. Second time in 3 months the JGC has left me stranded. And the dealer is saying they're very busy and may net even look at it until next week.

At what point did we get so lazy that inserting a key and turning it was either too much work or out of fashion? Very frustrated with Jeep right now.

Mine did the same thing. Took them 2 months, 3 trips, and a very firm letter to Mike Manley to figure out that it was just a corroded ground strap from the alternator. The negative voltage was all out of whack and once they replaced it, it's started right up for the past 3 months without a hitch. Its like a $50 part and an hour of time. You may suggest they look at that first. God only knows what that did to the long term health of my battery though... Good luck!

Would be nice if that's all it is. Under warranty so regardless of the problem, it'll get fixed but how much time will it take to get it even looked at.

110,000 on my Yukon Denali and it never once left me stranded.

Yeah, I'm at 19 trips to the dealer in 30 months for all sorts of things. I think when the lease is up, i'm turning it in for a Chevy Tahoe. Between my parents and I, we have had 7 of them over 25+ years and we have never had a single major mechanical problem. I went with the Jeep for the diesel MPG and the price, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for...

I just had some recalls done on my '08 Cherokee, they replaced the ignition and I got 2 new fobs. Two day later I get the battery light and 5 hours later it's dead. AAA said the alternator is gone. Should I just replace this? Or send it to them since it was fine before they worked on it?

So the dealer called me to tell me it's fixed. I picked it up a 1:00 this afternoon, drove 50 miles to meet with a client- coincidentally ZF transmissions (like what's in my GC), just went to start it and it's dead again! Exact same problem. Got 2 successful starts and it' dead again.

To make matters worse roadside assistance won't tow me back to the same dealer, they want to tow me to a dealer further from home, and a dealer that has no loaner cars, so I have no way to get home, 50 miles.

I'm sorry I bought a Jeep, never had a problem like this with Yukon Denalis and Escalades. 3rd time in 3 months I'm stranded, second time in a week!

And now the vacation I had planned for this weekend, leaving Wednesday night, is shot too. Way to go FCA

Replaced an RF frequency hub, and reprogrammed the key. That was good for 2 starts.

Today they're replacing the starter.

Now I'm afraid to go too far from home for fear it's going to leave me stranded again.

You should be happy they took it to a different dealer. You weren't happy with the first one. Maybe this one will get it right.

Rent a car and take your vacation. It's not worth missing it.

I paid the tow upcharge back to my dealer, it's 5 miles from where I live, not 50 miles like the other dealer.

Vacation involves hooking up the race car trailer and hauling it with us..... yes my wife actually goes along but it costs me a beach vacation to keep her happy. None of the rental agencies allow towing. So no tow vehicle = no vacation.

However, the dealer has now replaced the starter, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I make it 365 miles without incident.

Add me to the list of diesel's that won't start. My 2014 would not start last Friday evening (7/15), so I had AAA tow me to the dealer. Originally the tech thought it was the starter, but ruled that out. Then they thought it was the TIPM (bad relay), waited for that part, replaced it, and it still won't start. They just admitted (7/22) that they have no idea what is wrong and that they will start "tracing the wiring". I am left wondering if this will be covered under the warranty or not since I am 40+ K miles. Since they don't know what the problem is, they can't say whether this is part of the powertrain or not. I spent $56K on Jeep's flagship model and in less than three years I am on my third cat-converter, the engine won't start (diesel's last forever!), and the tech has no idea why! When I purchased this vehicle consumer reports had it at the top of their list, but now it is near the bottom. I was looking forward to replacing my wife's 2010 Armada with the upcoming Grand Wagoneer, but I have little faith in the reliability of these vehicles now.

Pski, in my case it was the starter. They replaced it and all has been fine since.

And Kevin from FCA was great in assisting!
