Leasing the 2014 diesel

I'm hopefully taking delivery next week of my Summit diesel. Plan to lease and have two questions:

1. Anybody leased the diesel yet? If yes, what terms are you getting on the diesel - residual, money factor, etc?

2. I plan to lease for 3 years with 12K miles per year. I understand the warranty covers 36K miles. Should I get extended warranty in case I go over the 36K miles in three years?

Re: Leasing the 2014 diesel

I'm also taking delivery next week. I'm leasing through a specialty leasing outfit that will create a lease to your terms. You pick the term length, residual, etc. If you're like me... you're leasing for very specific reasons and being able to tailor the terms is important. I'm guessing a lease from Jeep is pretty limited as far as options go. PM me if you'd like their contact info. Have leased several vehicles this way.

Re: Leasing the 2014 diesel

Lease here as well $0 down, 15k per year and MSRP was about $50k. Even under a lease you can negotiate the purchase price of the vehicle. A tip is to join the tread lightly program with the level of $100 annual donation (it's a Jeep off road conservation program) to get 1% below invoice pricing (and you can get it even lower bargaining with the dealer). You have to do this 30 days before ordering though to be in their system and have a control number. I use the diesel as our main driver for all weather, towing a trailer, and vacation long haul vehicle (love the 800 mile range so we stop at scenic areas to take a driving break rather than a gas station).

Bumper to bumper warranty is 3/36 but drivetrain is longer iirc 5/60k.

Re: Leasing the 2014 diesel

In March I got a Limited diesel with Lux II pkg only, I think neg price was ~$44k, msrp $48,885

12k miles/year limit. Money factor at .00019 with residual 59%. Including 7% sales tax payment is $499/mo. At signing it was $595 bank fee, $424 DMV fee, $301 upfront taxes and 1st month payment.

Tier 1 credit through Chrysler

I just check in on TrueCar and they're saying Chrysler's residual is now $2000 higher at 63%. That's the highest I've ever seen on leases, good scenario for leasing.
