Lemon Law Processs

hello,

i have a JGC diesel working on (2ndvisit) 11 days in the shop with no real status update. I was wondering for those in the know, did you contact Chrysler , work with your dealer, or contact your state lemon law to move forward in the process? And what was the contact or negotiations like for you?

My dealer has been amazing with this issue (so far) . I have been giving a dealer loaner , and now they put me in a rental (on Chrysler)

My state has a 30 day or 3 time visit with the same issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Every state's rules are different. You have identified your state's time frame which is step one. Google your state's lemon laws and read up on it. When you get close to qualifying request the dealer take it back. If they won't, then just file in accordance with your state's rules. They will likely immediately take it back and ask you to withdraw.

Just keep record of how long it is in the shop and the problem it has. Then you can contact the State to file for a lemon law suit. Also notify the dealer as they may help process it for you.

You must follow your states guidelines to the "T". That will usually mean giving the dealer written notice that you will be turning in a lemon law claim. Read everything you can then post back here if you need help understanding the requirements. I went through this in 1991 in FL. We had to give the dealership 3 times within 12 months and 12k miles to fix the problem. Then we had to give then written notice and one more chance to fix the issue. Then you could file your claim with the state.
DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!! Calls, names, times, and receipts. If you state has the 30 day. The vehicle must be in the shop 30 days or longer. Then DO NOT let them give you the car back until it is FIXED. Go on a test drive before signing any paper work. Once you take the car back the clock starts over. Some dealers know this.

Good luck.
