Re: Limited vs Overland? Opinions

I use the adaptive cruise all the time. It is one of my favorite features. Once you learn the best distance settings for the kind of traffic you are driving in, it is really nice. If you are in stop and go traffic, set it for 1-2 bars. For open highway, 3-4 bars.

Thanks for explaining.
My guess is that those who used cruise control often will think ACC is a god sent. Those who rarely use Cruise will try it once and never use it again. I just wonder how likely it is to cause over heating of the rotors causing them to warp. Then no matter what amount of wear you have on the brakes you end up changing the whole package.

I think people are greatly over-estimating how often it uses the brakes...

My suggestion, a test drive! If you don't own a car with ACC you really need to just try it for yourself.

Re: Limited vs Overland? Opinions

Honestly guys I think you are making a lot out of a little. Its been a long time since you had to worry about smoking your drum brakes on a downhill and being worried over warped rotors from the cruise control is getting toward silly.

As to liking the ACC I think its going to be a fairly personal thing. I find it annoying unless I'm out on the (relatively) open highway but clearly others do not. I do think most people would like it at least some of the time and the value equation is probably closely related to that time. I've had it before and where the option has been stand alone I've skipped it after having had it. This I think though is because it was what I think of as being massively overpriced. If it had been a couple hundred I put a check in that box, for the more than 1k I've seen it stand alone, uh uh. Here since I wanted the Summit anyways it wasn't up for consideration.

Re: Limited vs Overland? Opinions

I went Limited with ORAII (which includes air suspension and tow pack) and the required Luxury II package. My reasoning was I didn't want the leather dash, wood steering wheel or the painted trim. I have all of the luxury items as the Overland, other than ACC and power mirrors. The ACC was an option, but I elected to go without. The only functional option I couldn't get was the power folding mirrors.

My previous car was a 2012 Overland, so I have had the features that my current ride doesn't. I dispised the wood steering wheel and my leather dash had to be replaced in less than 2 years. Also, I didn't care for the leather piping. I absolutely love my 14' Limited, not to mention the EcoDiesel is amazing.

Again, the reason there are so many ways to build these GC's, is we all have personal preferences. What works for me, may not work for you. I just wanted opine, as there still seems to be confusion as to what is available on the Limited vs Overland. Get the one you want and don't look back.
