Haha no that's not in a park. It's on a horse farm outside of Lexington.

You need these: MAXTRAX: Vehicle Extraction & Recovery Great for finding a solid surface on mud, snow, etc.

For 300 bucks, you could buy an entire cargo area's worth of old fashioned hemp or jute welcome mats and do just as well.

Re: Live from a stuck Jeep

Just to clarify - I could 'move' the Jeep. I probably could have gotten out on my own. BUT I would have trashed the wheels on that wall. I took out a couple of good gouges as it was, but I would have really destroyed at least the back one as the alloy wheel was against the concrete.

It was like being a ski slope as far as how slick the mud was, it was hard to stand up on the back of the dam. I drove right though it with momentum then when I went to turn around and turned a little downhill it just slid right down.

I am sure I could have gotten out, but I'm also sure I would have done a fair amount of damage in the process. I had a couple of buddies with other trucks coming, so it seemed wise to get out the strap and sit tight for a little bit.

I was trying to cut the wheel and climb the wall but there was too much mud to get enough grip on it. I did try hard enough to throw off the alignment, so I had an alignment done yesterday.

Re: Live from a stuck Jeep

I see you had turned traction control off. Did you run into some issue where it was better with it turned off?

Re: Live from a stuck Jeep

The traction control limits wheel spin - something you need in the mud.

It actually defaults to traction control off when the select terrain is set to "mud" but in past trucks with traction control I turned it off when off-road.
