Any news yet? Did you get the new CAT on?

Well, Check Engine came on at about somewhere between 10 and 11000 for the 2nd time. A week or so later it went out, then back on at about 11500. I took it to the dealer (2nd time) and they flashed it again. Code P20EE. I asked them to put the TSB #s in but it looks like they didn't. All it says is PCM-Flash and Part # 4275086AD.

The next time this happens the service manager and I will have a talk about next steps.

Yeah, looks like next Check Engine will get you your new CAT. Good luck!

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

I just had all of the recall work done on our last week and the P20EE code came up yesterday (about 100 miles) later. Maybe they did something to the injector when they implemented the Chrysler "fix" for the exposed injector.

I don't recall anyone saying so, but hey, I might of missed it...and I suppose that it could be a possibility of this happening. Lets see if anyone chims in...

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Case manager called yesterday afternoon, slight delay in transit for the new Cat. Should be at dealer next week. Coincidentally, my CEL came on this morning. I checked it right away and confirmed same code, P20EE. This latest CEL comes 3 weeks since last, and 2 weeks since last dealer visit/reset... which was starting to feel like a long time. I sure hope the new Cat fixes this for good. How's yours Morax ?

Glad to see your CAT is on the way! Me, so far so good with the new one!

Once they change it, ask them if you can go and see the part, bet you it is packed with crystallized DEF.

He was suppose to call them today. We shall see. Suckiest part is that no one will ever call us. We have to call and leave message after message. Wait for days. Then we get a call saying they are still working on it. You have a loaner right?
Chrysler "super" tech looked over all our repair paperwork Tuesday and ordered a new rear dif. Suppose to be here next Tuesday and installed hopefully Wednesday. We meet this afternoon with the district manager for Chrysler to discuss our options if this does not work. We shall see what they offer.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

With our WK2, had to do the P20EE dance, just as I read others on here have had to. I get a feeling they kind of know what's wrong, but have to do these steps in order, to appease the Corp.

CEL light on, take it in, have it cleared and update flash. Around 68kms CEL lights up. Take it in, they try something else, another update, clear code. Drive 71kms, get another CEL for P20EE and a second code for 'improper DEF'. And a 'will not start in 320 kms' count down message. Take it back to dealer, they order a new Cat. It's been on order for a little over a week. They say maybe next week. Got a loaner (mini van) to drive till fixed.

Yup Ftwvin, thats pretty much it! Where about in Canada are you? At least you got an ETA on the new CAT pretty fast...here in the East, had to push on Case manager from FCA to get the part in. After a week, dealer had still no ETA to give me...I guess now the parts are flowing better...hope you get your Jeep back ASAP. g'luck keep us posted.

Chrysler manager agreed to a buy back. So, we are going down that road now. They said it would take 4-6 weeks.
Our choices were buy back, see if this repair fixes it (maybe get 3 months of cars payments back), or see if this repair fixes it and if not after 30, 60, or 90 days then do a buy back. Could only pick one of the 3 and once picked no changing. So we decided on just doing the buy back now. I will let everyone know how that process shakes out.
Rear dif did come in and they will install it next week. We will get the jeep back for a few weeks, if this repair works, while going through the buy back process.
Chrysler manger and dealership service manager were very nice during this discussion. They did say because my wife has been so understanding this whole time. They really wanted to go to bat for us and get this worked out. So, sometimes being nice works. We shall see once the numbers hit the paper.
So, we will be looking at a 2015 Grand Cherokee Summit V8 without the diesel this time and maybe no 4X4. I just don't think they have all the bugs worked out of the diesel yet.
