I've just been added to the P20EE list. This is my first code at just over 18k. I thought I was clear because most seem to have had the issue much sooner. I didn't clear the code but heading to the shop tomorrow. I expect the same dance with the dealership that others have reported.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Also made it on the P20EE list for replaced cats at 14k miles. Had the MIl come on around 11k miles, I scanned it, but the light turned off before I made it to the dealer. They said they couldn't diagnosis since it wasn't lit at the time. Happened a second time Friday and brought it into dealer they have ordered the revised cats and should be in within a week. It's a 14 limited CRD that was built in December 2013, but sat until I bought in in October of 2014.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Well at 21,000 miles last week my wife's MIL light turned on. Ends up it was the P20EE code. Dealer said it was the DEF injector that was bad, took two days to replace it. This past Saturday, less than 1 week after having taken it in, the light is back on. Fortunately, the dealer got me a rental with enterprise. Hopefully they get it fixed this time. No idea how long it's guna take or what's wrong with it this time, but I bet it's the same code.

Sure sounds like it!

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Got second CEL (did not scanned it, but the tech says it is same code like the one earlier - P20EE). This is happening 1200 miles after first one and the PCM software update to cure it, along with TCM and TPM updates. Now my car says that shifting is not allowed if the speed is too low/high for the gear I am selecting or the engine is cold when I try to shift using the paddles. He ordered the DPF and I been told that it may take a week or two depending on the part availability through the distributors they are working with, so I will be getting phone call to take it in for service w/o even waiting for another CEL in near future.

Finally brought it in and they said they need to "replace the SCR." Didn't even know I had one.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

New CAT installed, two days driving, no CEL yet. Hope the new CAT lasts for at least 100,000 kms and not just 10,000 kms.

Now to order that DOM-protective plate.... the injector looks scary just sitting in the open like that

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

I'm checking in to say that I'm at 17K now and so far so good, the fixes including new cat work so far. To all others with P20EE, hang in there and have faith with the fix process.

Good luck with your buy back process, I hope all goes well. You're right about the bugs, although I think we're in the minority, there are many diesel owners who've had no problems whatsoever.

Are you sure you want to go V8? I just got back from a 3,000 mile road trip through the southern Rockies, 6,000' to 8,000' mountain passes, and driving very fast (15-20+ MPH over the speed limit), cruising at 85, 90, 95 for almost all of my miles and I got 24MPG for the whole trip. Amazing fuel economy in the diesel, with V8-like power, and in a 4X4 with transfer case to boot. If I drove at or near the speed limit I know I'd have gotten 30+ MPG.

Just saying, I know it's not for everyone. Again, good luck to you. And keep us posted.

We live in TX so it is mostly flat. Yes I will missed the higher MPG's but not the trips to the dealership and high oil change prices. Still sitting there at the dealership as we speak and no call from the buy back team yet. JOY!!

Make sure to ask your service department about the Mopar 4-pack of oil changes. My dealer changed me $220 for the diesel. I heard them quote a lady $61 for her Dodge. Some dealers mark the price up more than others.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

I am also getting the P20EE code. Initially after resetting it would last at least 2000kms now may be 200kms. Given that the car was purchased in the US (TX) and is now driven in Europe could it be that European diesel specs are different than those in the US causing the malfunctioning? Anyone knows whether replacing the CATs with European specs will solve the problem?
