Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Newest member to join the P20EE club here @ 15,200 km. Just jumped through the first hoop and had the flash done. Probably a good thing as it's the first step to getting a new scr cat. (under warranty).

We found a 4X2 V8 (dealer did NOT help AT ALL) and the dealer says he has it now. So, now ISG has to put some "numbers" together. ISG says this could take 1-2 weeks??? WTF!! I could see a few days. Then a day or two for Chrysler financial to say, yes they will do a collateral swap or we have to do a new loan.
I think it would have been easier just to get my money back..... May have taken a little longer but the dealer dragging it's feet for 2 week just to get the jeep a hundred mile away. Now more time to run the numbers. We still need to go look at the Jeep to make sure everything is OK with it. If not then I am going to demand our money back.
On the bright side the Jeep is still running good.
Then fun continues........

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Given that I also have the issue with the P20EE and despite the many re flashes, and regen stuff the code is still there. Thus would need advice given that Chrysler would not cover it under warranty because the Jeep is currently outside the U.S. Basically Chrysler told me to fix the problem in Europe at my cost and once return to the U.S. have the car inspected by a dealer and then submit bill to get reimbursed, basically crap. So my question is if the P20EE issue is widely an issue it should be getting a "recall" status early soon. Under such status I beleive that Chrysler would cover mine even though its outside the U.S. Any chance of this becoming a recall? Any way to persuade Chrysler to cover my cat? Not sure when and if the car will be back in the US.

Well, had my appt at 10AM this morning. Un(?)fortunately my check engine light (P20EE) went out yesterday on it's own, so no CEL for them to look at and no stored codes, of course. BUT I had a recall to do anyway, so I took it in hoping they'd at least do that recall and the P20EE flash to avoid another trip if the CEL comes on again.

So 1 recall (P64) and 3 TSB's (08-053-14, 24-003-14 and 18.018-14 Rev E) later I was on my way. We'll see how long it lasts.

I do like the service department so far though...first time I'd been there. They pulled up all the RRT's w/o any prompting from me and asked if I wanted them done. They did the ones I wanted, left the ones I didn't, good communication. Hopefully that continues.

They did order the parts for the DEF Injector line retention. I have Dom's plate on, so don't really need it. I'm curious to find out what they say when they see Dom's shield in place...that we'll find out next time.

My dealer has been under my jeep several times, including the CAT replace and they never even mentioned Doms plate. I specifically climb under there every time because I think those dummies will remove it.

Why did they do 18-018-14e? 18-023-15 supersedes it and has been out since 3/14/15.

All I had was the RRT # (14-107). I didn't realize Jeep used the same RRT for multiple TSB revisions, so I grabbed the first TSB# I saw when I "translated" the RRT#.

Bottom line: it's likely they DID do 18-023-15.

When I had this TSB done my dealer removed the plate and replaced it. They made note of it on the paperwork. Cool thing was they put some solid foam on the rear part of the plate to reduce vibration noise. Those guys are alright

The replacement Jeep will work for us. Now they just have to get the numbers together and they say 1-2 weeks for that.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

I think I may now be a member of this club. Had the MIL come on 2 weeks ago. Dealer applied the latest greatest updates. MIL came on again yesterday and brought it in today. Was told it needed a new NOx sensor. I figure 3 or 4 more visits to dealer and they will have it fixed.

I really like the vehicle but it's starting to wear on me bringing it in for service. The next visit for the NOx repair will be my 7th since buying it in February 2014.
I could have, should have had a V8.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Three visits to dealer then a week later they replaced the Cat, injector etc. No big deal and at least they are trying to solve the issue. Stuff happens. My old man's Chevy 350 threw a rod and two pistons on the way home from the showroom years ago. Guess all V8s must be avoided too

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Aw, crap. Just went over 16k and the MIL came on, right on schedule. Confirmed P20EE with my OBDII scanner. I had TSB 18-023-15 done already almost two months ago after the new software came out. I'm hoping the dealer will just cut to the chase and order me a new cat since I already have the most recent software. Somehow, I suspect it won't happen. They'll flash it again, reset the fault code, and it'll come back on in about 1000 miles, give or take, and the process starts all over again.

Since I'm going to have to do the dance like everyone else, I might as well know what it is. Is replacement of the injector always required along with the cat or are any of you just getting the cat alone replaced? I'd rather not have the gorillas at the dealer screwing with my injector plate if I can avoid it. Thanks.
