I'm hoping the dealer will just cut to the chase and order me a new cat since I already have the most recent software. Somehow, I suspect it won't happen. They'll flash it again, reset the fault code, and it'll come back on in about 1000 miles, give or take, and the process starts all over again.

Since I'm going to have to do the dance like everyone else, I might as well know what it is. Is replacement of the injector always required along with the cat or are any of you just getting the cat alone replaced? I'd rather not have the gorillas at the dealer screwing with my injector plate if I can avoid it. Thanks.

I had only the CAT replaced...well, not by choice...

Did they give you a time frame to receive the new CAT?

You should be fixed up in a few weeks. Good as new

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

No ,I was not given a time frame. I did ask but the service advisor just didn't know. Seemed like I was giving him more info than he was giving me thanks to websites like Jeep Garage ,allpar,ram1500diesel etc. I conveniently left out a TSB printout on the front passenger seat too regarding the SCR cat failures. When I retrieved the jeep, it was gone. I think the diesel tech may have scooped it.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Brought my car in for the P20EE DTC. My goal was to get the condition confirmed, get a cat ordered, and be on my way until the cat came in. Dealer says my car has been flagged in their system for some "improvement" program and they can't do anything until they hear back from FCA, hopefully some time today. Anybody hear of this before?

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Tell me about it. I have a 14 CRD built Dec. 2013 purchased 10/14. Got over 10k miles and thought I was in the clear.
A little after 11.6k miles 3/15 MIL comes on I scan it p20ee pops up. Schedule appointment. MIL clears before the appt. told they can't really diagnose the issue since it's not lit. They perform power module flash. MIL is gone.

3 weeks later 4/10 it comes back on. I take it in right away there for 2 days and they say they have to order replacement cats. Parts come in 4/23. Schedule apt for 4/27 told it would be 2 days. Call the 4/28 late evening before I head home from work to see if car is ready. I live hour from dealership, but dealership is by my office. Sorry car not done tech stripped a fitting and is on 4/5 day lead time. Call back 6 days later part is on back order indefinite. When we ordered the part there were 12 in stock you are #20 on the list. I checked today particulate matter sensor is what is needed. The jgc has been in the shop 17 days this stint and a total of 25 days in my 7 months of ownership. A waiting game it seems to be.

That's one option. I chose to work with Jeep, get the P20EE error fixed, and enjoy a great rig that is at the same time luxurious, comfortable, a strong towing rig, fast (enough), and has great range on a tankful and gets great mileage --

>> 24 MPG @ 85 MPH
>> 28 MPG @ 75 MPH
>> 34 MPG @ 65 MPH
>> 45 MPG @ 55 MPH

I'm at 18K now and no P20EE in over 6K. I knew buying this MY rig might have some early bugs. But still, my wife and I...

WE LOVE THIS RIG!!!

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

If you re waiting on a CAT, which I'm sure are back ordered as was mine but I called Chrysler and opened a case and was assigned a case manager who was instrumental in getting the CAT expedited. I did the same thing before the CAT when they wanted to replace the injector which my dealer said would take a month or two to get and Chrysler was able to get to my dealer in 2 weeks.

1 week has passed and they are still working the numbers. I guess they use a 1st grader to do their math.
