Taking it back tomorrow. They said Chrysler has to authorize ordering a new cat so I'm hoping that happens tomorrow. I'm expecting them to not want to do anything and claim I used bad def even though it was refilled 3500 miles ago.
On the way to the dealership this morning I got the "Car will not restart in 200 miles" message. Dealer gave me a loaner and said they want to look it over carefully.

The gloves are coming off. Tired of the BS games.
Guess what?? The swap did happen because the general manager didn't get the collateral swap paperwork. Of course we didn't find this out until we arrive at the dealership. Which is a 30 minute drive to. ISG rep said he tried to get it expedited too but couldn't. I told ISG the numbers they provided us are no good now and we need a better offer. This is total BS. The GM didn't even contact Chrysler Capital until this morning at 9:28am to request the paperwork. He has had more than 2 weeks to request it.
JUST SICK!!!

This is why I want to support Tesla. Manufacturers have limited control over dealers that service. And given the complexity of after sale service the incentives are not tipped in the consumer's favor. I'm sorry to hear your story. Get your car and use a different dealer next time. And dont forget a review on Yelp and other social media to call them out. They care about that BIG.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Update on mine. After 8 business day wait my CRD was finally brought in to see what the MIL was. P20EE-00 detected. SRX Nox cat efficiency below threshold.

Dealer said TSB came out two days ago. PCM was flashed with TSB 18-023-15 and MIL did not return. They said to drive it and if it comes back on with same fault they will replace the catalyst.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Well, my Jeep has now been at the dealer and out of commission 13 of the last 17 days (including Memorial Day weekend) waiting on parts--first the cat, now the O2 sensor--and the dealer has no ETA for delivery. Unfortunately, the statute of limitations (12 mo/12K) on my state's lemon law has expired. So I'm stuck with this piece of shit. Too bad. Awesome rig on paper.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Ok... So my 14 WK2 just popped this code at 7800 miles. My question is this, is anyone's issue ever actually corrected with the ECM flash protocol outlined in the most recent service bulliten? Or is it basically a given that new parts will be necessary to repair this issue? Just want to plan for the aggravation factor.

It's back. It's going in for the cat next week anyway. No drivability issues, limp mode, etc.

chances are you hardware is fine at 7800 miles. Mine faulted at 17000 mile and so far after a hundred miles with latest PCM flash there is no MIL.

I spoke too soon. MIL came back on. Dealer will need to replace catalyst.

I posit that it was the act of clearing the fault code that bought you extra time and that the software update has no real effect once the damage to the cat has been done. They probably could have cleared the code without updating the software and the outcome would have been the same.

Which prompts the question: for those of us who had the RRT applied before the encountering any P20EE, but after having driven 10+k miles, just how screwed up is our cat compared to you guys who got fresh replacement cats? That is, presuming the software fix stops further damage but is unable to reverse damage already done.

I guess I really don't care about what comes out of the tailpipe (i.e. I don't care whether the cat is poisoned and is spewing noxious fumes), but I *do* care if this near-failure is increasing backpressure and robbing my vehicle of fuel efficiency.
