Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Is this issue with the Code and the Cat needing replacement just a 2014 problem?

The GM didn't even contact Chrysler Capital until this morning at 9:28am to request the paperwork. He has had more than 2 weeks to request it.
JUST SICK!!!
No better offer came. ISG rep would not call or email me back. ISG transfer agent called yesterday to set up the swap for today. Just finished... Thank GOD!! Dealership still didn't have their crap together. New car was not even clean when we got there. Shocker!! If I had to do it over again I would just ask for my money back. Still have to now go fight to get my extended warranty refunded from the original selling dealer. Then call Chrysler to get them to add the free 7/100 warranty. The fun ain't over yet..
Good luck out there. Keep copies of your service visits and get the district manager involved when you have had enough. They call the shot on a replacement. Chrysler customer was not very useful other than give me a free warranty after all the hassle.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

I got the dreaded code in early April with about 34,000 miles on the vehicle. The CAT was back ordered in April and my Jeep ran until about 2 weeks ago when I got the "your will not be able to start the vehicle in 200 miles" message. That expedited the CAT to 7 a 10 days delivery estimate - that was fulfilled. I suggested that they also order the sensors at the same time - but they did not.

Today I received a call that when they were installing the CAT that the sensors also needed to be replaced (no surprise), and they are on back order until mid-July... That will have the Jeep down for six weeks. They gave me a loaner - but six weeks is a bit much.

Does anybody have advise as to the best way to escalate the problem at Jeep? I asked the dealer - but they would not give me any numbers to call - other than just calling the generic Jeep customer service number. Who do I need to find at Jeep that can get the parts allocated quicker?

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

My first code popped up at about 13,500 after hitting a bump, they cleared it. Came on again around the 14k mark bit disappeared 200 miles later before I could get it back to them and been good for a couple hundred miles so far....

Yesterday my rig turned 19,000 miles so it has been 8,000 miles and 5 months it's been clear of P20EE, so hang in there guys.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Are the replacement cats different in some way that prevents future failures?
Yes I have the P20 code. 4th, or is it the 5th code in 8k miles. My GM truck has 150k miles and not one problem, ever. The issues are getting a bit old with this vehicle.

I'm not sure what the difference is. Does anyone here know? Sometime I wonder if they just set the threshhold to larger tolerances so that the P20EE error doesn't trip so easily.

Yes but when we bought our rigs, we knew this was the first MY for the 3.0L EcoDiesel here in the US, so in a sense we are guinea pigs for shaking out some of the bugs.

I had been waiting for the diesel engine for over a year. If I had lost patience I would have bought the Pentastar V-6, but I am glad I waited. The EcoDiesel is a great engine, gobs of torque and great gas mileage. I love getting more than 30mpg on the highway.

Since my buy back in complete. Here is the old Vin 1C4RJFJM1EC347254. They say it will go back to one of two factory service centers for repair or crushing. I hope no one gets stuck with it. Although it was running pretty good when we turned it in but the could have just turn the CEL light off too.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

annnnnnnd ding number 3 at 14,500 miles. Only 5 days of no CEL freedom... No loss in power or consumption either, still averaging high 27s with mixed driving.

Just over 14500 miles started on a 250 mile one way trip when the light came on. Stopped the trip to take it to the dealership to find out we had the p20ee code. Techs said it was a bad batch of Bosch cats that the coating would flake off and clog the sensors. They said other Bosch diesel cats also have the same problem ie ford. They said they have done 20 or so and only one came back because it was an early bad replacement cat.

Fingers crossed but left the Jeep home for this trip. Will wait for the parts to come in and see what happens.
