MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

I think the code popping up after def has been added is a software fluke. The CAT converter is toast but for some reason the code is not produced until the DEF level changes for most on the 2014's - Something else EPA can investigate....

Have CAT sensor issues on my 2015, producing error (P0420) code - emission related. parts...on National backorder.

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

I had my CAT and sensors replaced last week... Check engine light back on. Any idea what it can be this time? I feel like I've gone through all the common issues (eg def injector, CAT, software, etc)

MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

I've been following this thread with interest since it began. And I truly feel sorry for the lot of you-after so many of you have had the emissions systems fail on our wonderful vehicles. I don't know whether to count my blessings as it has not happened to me, or do I just grin and bear it that it eventually will? I'm at 42,000 miles-never having thrown a code. I'm sure I'm in the minority?

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Jason - I think it may have to do with driving style that causes it to fail earlier on others. I made it to 26k miles before mine went. I however tow occasionally which really works the engine and gets it really hot so that I think provided longer time before mine went. I do however have a lot of stop go / idling and coasting on daily drives which I think is what causes the issue to come up earlier.

Got mine back with new Cat converter late last week. DEF gauge showed just over half with it has shown for a long time. Pulled travel trailer 150 miles in very hilly terrain. Unhooked at campground and drove up the interstate to next town. DEF gauge now showing even more DEF than I started with at half way between 1/2 and 3/4 full. strange. Check engine MIL light has not come back on though, so maybe ot is fixed.

I am fairly certain your guesstimation is probably accurate. Mine sees interstate every week to the tune of 115 miles round trip/230 miles round trip every other week. Towing a 4600+ trailer one weekend a month May - Sept. Driven hard since day two of ownership

So everyone with this problem needs to call (877)426-5337 (Jeep Satisfaction Hotline) and report to to Jeep that this is an occurring issue that needs to be resolved so they make this a recall. I had my CAT replaced at 17,000 miles and I just got the same code at 23,000 miles. Issue is not resolved. It is in the shop today... The more people that call the sooner we have our Jeeps back.

Transmission was replaced at 6000 miles. Along with just about every sensor in the car.

Now that it's been promoted to an RRT for the 2014's, do you even need to wait for a P20EE code to be thrown? I was under the impression you could just call and schedule the SCR cat replacement, very recall-like. Of course, who knows what I've been smoking?

Re: MIL & P20EE again & again & again...

Took mine in for oil change, radio recall, and vibrating steering wheel last week. They said FCA requires them to perform the RRT even though my Jeep never showed any symptoms listed.
