MPG for 2017

Has anyone noticed the EPA has not yet given a MPG rating for the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD engine? They have rated the V6 and V8 gas engines. Maybe there will be a slight increase in CRD MPG if ESS is enabled? The updated tranny does support ESS.

Re: MPG for 2017

Production for the '17 CRD is not until October 3rd. So dont expect numbers till after that.

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - 2017 Grand Cherokee pricing and options

There should be a slight increase in fuel efficiency from the new 2nd Gen ZF transmission, but I am almost certain that ESS is not in the mix for the CRD.

Re: MPG for 2017

The 2wd JGCs are also supposed to receive the new 2nd Gen ZF transmission. Comparing at the new EPA numbers between the '17 and '16, I am not seeing any advertised increases. Actually, even though the highway and city numbers are exactly the same between the '17 and '16, combined the '17 is showing a lower(!?!) mpg than the '16 2wd model. Go figure: Compare Side-by-Side

Re: MPG for 2017

FWIW, I got 32.8 mpg on a 205 mile non-freeway run coming from Pinetop AZ back to Phoenix (Route 73 to Route 60 for the locals). Totally happy about that...

One thing though...the fuel tank gauge isn't calibrated properly. I filled up before leaving...and burned through 3/16 of the gauge...which would be about 4.7 gals. Basic math using the mpg calc would be at 6.25 gals...
