Need part number for 2015 catalytic converter

Hey guys, my 2014 Overland is in the shop for the second time with the P20EE code. I told them the first time that the flash wasn't going to do anything and even said at the bottom of the flash TSB that if the car already had the P20EE code then additional repair is necessary.

But anyway, I want to make sure that they get the new updated 2015 cat in the car. The service manager was asking me for the part number to confirm that he orders the updated version.

Does anyone know the part number for the revised 2015 ecodiesel cat? Thanks!

I would print this and bring it with you, or e-mail him the pdf.

Re: Need part number for 2015 catalytic converter

What led up to your jeep throwing the code? Mostly high way or city driving? Did it ever go away or come and go?

The reson I'm asking is because mine had this code this past saturday driving on the interstate and it never acted up once. It has gone 600+ miles since then and the lights gone with no hiccup. 6800 miles on it. Went to the dealer Tuesday after the light went away and they told me they are having issues with the rams mostly. But couldn't help me with no light being on.

Sorry for the hijack of the thread, hope your issues are resolved.

Light only came on once at 10,600 miles shortly after getting on the highway. The light has no effect on performance. Took it to the dealer and they said it needed an ECM flash (This is the same flash that others talk about solving a bunch of different MILs, pretty large spread of issues). However, at the bottom of the TSB for that flash, it says that if the car already had the P20EE code then additional repair is necessary.

Dealer misunderstood I guess, even though I pointed it out, and said that they drove it and the light didn't come back on "so it was fixed for now."

I got home and scanned the car, and it already had the P20EE code pending (dealer is full of it that they can't see pending codes) and it had already failed the catalyst readiness test.

400 miles later, light comes back on, same code P20EE. Now it's been at the dealer for a week while they wait for the updated cat.

Hope that paints a better picture for you.

Re: Need part number for 2015 catalytic converter

It does, thank you very much for that. Hopefully they get yours resolved quickly.

I work in the oil field and the dealer we bought it from in Odessa Texas has some real winners working there. Problem is that the good mechanics are all in the patch making more money so now it's warm bodies running businesses when they shouldn't even be greeting people at the Walmart door.

I called for two days and the service department wouldn't answer or return calls. So call the salesman, he gets me in for the oil change but not service other than taking the computer out and looking it up to say it's clear. I ask to get it updated and he tells me that Chrysler has to send signal to the jeep for it to be ready for an update and he doubts they have (he's full of sh**, just to lazy to do it). So I try to make an appointment and he told me that he can't do that but to keep bringing it up there on Saturdays and hopefully someone is there to do it.

Furious owner for sure.

I'm sorry to hear that. I personally wouldn't tolerate it. I would be in the service department raising some hell.

I also forgot to mention that I idled the car quite a bit before the issue. Auto-starting the truck and then it shutting off after the countdown happened quite often since about 3k miles.

That being said, it seems that I was about 5-6k miles early on the cat failure judging from other owners posting here.

Re: Need part number for 2015 catalytic converter

Oh I gotcha. We don't idle much at all, some times in the morning for a few minutes and that's it.

As for the service department, that's as good as it gets. They are ridiculously incompetent when it comes to running a business.

Mine failed at 10k. Replaced last week. There were also sensors replaced as well. I posted the actual service notes in this thread
