New ECM/TCM flash coming out

In 2-3 weeks a dealer released ECM/TCM will be coming out. It's supposed to cure ALL drive issues with the Jeep. I'll let you know if I hear more. Things I know for sure it's supposed to cure.

1. Trans shudder
2. decreased MPG

And I find it funny that their engineer told me that the previous TSB were never intended to fix the problems. Just decrease symptoms until they found/tested new fixes.

Any insight as to whether this includes a fix for P20EE?

I noticed decreased mpg with latest trans flash - especially on the highway.

Re: New ECM/TCM flash coming out

My shudder ( "fishbites" ) returned today. I guess I will be first in line to get the latest flash. Maybe I should wait. If it's a detune patch, I'm not interested. I'm pretty sure if they keep raising the shift point higher and prohibit low speed/high torque operation, ALL transmission issues will be solved...

Re: New ECM/TCM flash coming out

I wonder why some vehicles have shifting issues and some do not. My transmission works perfectly (diesel, Nov 2013 build, no TCM updates). When I took in my vehicle for P20EE repair today I had them write in big letters on the service form: "Do not install any TCM updates."

Agree. But defeats the purpose of owning a diesel

Re: New ECM/TCM flash coming out

Well I got chrysler to agree if this flash isn't here in 3 weeks or this flash doesn't fix it in writing.

It is process of fine tuning, especially with new products. MB went same way when they released diesel ML 7-8 years ago and the 7G-Tronic, lots of flashes until they get to the right torque/shift point settings.
