New Overland 4x4 picked up last week

It finally arrived! I picked up my New Diesel GC Overland last Thursday. Lov'in it! Already have about 300 miles on it.

So far my misadventures have been:
They lost my second key before delivery...still waiting.... (They will get me a new one if they can't find it this week)

I received a book for my Jeep on CD and my laptop does not have a CD player (I am going to move it to an thumb drive from another computer.)

I spent 30 min trying to stop the Navigation from rerouting me ever 2 seconds. I live near Los Angeles...I would spend all my time getting off and on the freeway and pressing ignore every time because it covers WHOLE screen is annoying. In fact, without asking for a reroute it took me off the freeway and right back on that was fun... (turned the rerouting off)

I was surprised to the Regen message at 187 miles. We had driven about 100 miles on the freeway and 20 miles up a mountain and about 20 miles around town when it happened. So we took a drive around the lake (there is no hwy there) and it cleared.

I bought the Slush mats and cargo area cover...they will be going back tomorrow. They barely cover the place where the regular mats sit and the cargo mat actually slides around.

We are learning more about Diesels every day...

Really want to know about off-roading with the diesel and how regens work out while doing so.

Really, u can turn off the rerouting?

Didn't know that I agree it's annoying the times I've used mine and get rerouted.

Congrats on the diesel.

Congrats on the diesel.

We were going nuts because every time we dismissed it i just came back up. I was searching the internet while hubby drove. Found this and it really helped:

Go to NAVIGATION >> MAIN MENU >> SETTINGS >> MAP GUIDANCE --> TMC ROUTE >> Options include:

– Automatic: No black pop up window, reroutes automatically
– By Delay Time: Setup specific delay time on main route. If set at 5 min, your route is rerouted if traffic issues cause more than a 5 min delay (automatically)
– Manual: Black pop up window and lets user decide what to do
– Off: No rerouting due to traffic incidents

We just turned it off though I could see the "By Delay time" might be useful in some instances. For us Automatic would be a roller coaster on and off the freeway.

Re: New Overland 4x4 picked up last week

I think the regen message was odd at 187 miles. I have 2000+ miles and still have not seen it. My first 1100 miles were all highway, and the rest has been city driving.

I watched the CD, I also think there are some PDF's on it too, but I have not looked at them yet.

Sofar so good with my WK2 Eco, except the air filter problem, but I bought an AFE filter to fix that issue.

Rerouting by Delay Time seems like a nice feature. I figure setting the time at 10-15 minutes would make a difference, and not constantly jump you off and back on the highway.

I was a little concerned at the Regen at 187 miles. I'm at 360 now..since the last time I drove through traffic in LA ran errands, and did short trips the last few days. Getting ready to head back to the mountain tonight. I will be looking for it to happen again.

Agreed. The husband I are discussing the right time delay. It's my baby but he drives on longer trips so we compromise

I don't know if I'd worry about the regen happening so quickly. The vehicle may have sat on a dealer's lot or even leaving the factory just idling and building up soot in the DPF. Only way to know that would be to have the dealer poll the engine hours via their scanner. If it is a warning that occurs on a regular basis, then I would become more concerned.

Re: New Overland 4x4 picked up last week

Congrats on the JGC. I have almost 30K miles in 19 months. I really enjoy this vehicle. I am averaging around 28-29 mpg. The only vehicle I liked more was my BMW M3/4 but not by much it is that good.
You will find that light off roading the current set up will be just fine. However be aware that the DEF is a vulnerable area worth protecting.
The Jeep is way more capable than most users will ever use.
Also I didn't buy the Jeep mats because the Weathertech are way better to keep slush, snow and sand out. I have used them in all my 4wds and I have found none better to include Husky.

I'm sure you've scoured the interior looking for that key but there are a few places a key fob could hide... First places I'd look are:

- up and to the left of where the SD Card slot is. its easy to miss things "hiding" on that little upper shelf. Took me about 3 weeks of ownership to notice that area.

-Under the seats...there is a LOT of room, and many nooks/crannies under the seats in my overland.

Good luck with the new GC EcoD. I LOVE mine...
