Re: New TSB 009-006-15

Update on mine. It went back in again (so a third time), again for exhaust smell inside the cabin. I am getting sick of it at this point. Replaced the gaskets at all of the injectors because they found another leaky one. Also found my air filter was separated like others have had here but refused to cover the cost of replacement on that. Still have a rattling/buzzing vibration noise from the engine that they've diagnosed as the air con compressor, so they purged, dried and refilled and it started doing it all the time so a compressor is ordered but will be weeks again.

In the meantime I picked the vehicle up, got it 1 hr and the MIL lights up, code p245b. I phone them and tell them I'm not bringing it in and they need to document that its illuminated. P245b is an EGR temp change code, so they just screwed something up again.

I'm thinking next stop will be regional rep for Jeep, this is getting absurd!

Re: New TSB 009-006-15

Just took mine in last week for this. According to them they have to take the engine out and see which gaskets need to be ordered first before they even start the real work on it. Hopefully the can start it all tomorrow and get everything ordered and in soon. I have a feeling I'll be in the very basic Jeep Compass they gave me for at the very least 2 weeks.

Has anyone contacted Jeep about how ridiculous it is that we've spent $50k + on these vehicles just to have them sit at the shop for weeks? If so, has anyone gotten anything out of it? A month without my vehicle is insane. And making a monthly payment while not even having it is even more insane. If one more thing goes wrong on this vehicle, it may be time to trade it in. I really, really love this vehicle (or at least the idea of it), but I didn't spend this much money to drive a Compass. Or any vehicle without heated seats, heated steering wheel, and remote start in the middle of winter.

Re: New TSB 009-006-15

So I have my jeep at the dealer to have a leaking timing chain cover repaired and I thought I'd present this TSB since they're already into a fairly involved process. The service rep seemed reluctant, telling me I was thinking of the 3.7L. I had to argue and give them the tsb# and they said they would "show it to their tech". I told them they could do it now or they can put my jeep back together and take it apart again when I bring it back to have it done... We shall see I guess. All I know is as soon as it's done I'm getting the GDE tune to get rid of that blasted EGR.

Re: New TSB 009-006-15

They wouldn't do anything for me in the end. Chrysler customer care in Canada has no buy back or trade in program in place, and they provide technical support only. Seems kind of silly. So a sit down with the dealership and a long discussion with all involved amounted to them lowballing me in a trade in for their problems, and tacking $20g onto my owing!! Insane!!! Needless to say I don't have the vehicle back still, and I have nothing to show for it. Canadians beware, there is not the customer protection programs that there are in the USA

I'm sorry to hear that man. Its sad to hear that a company won't stand behind their product. The problem is most companies will screw the consumer if they can get away with it in, my experience. I had a problem with a Suzuki motorcycle and they left me hanging but that's another story.

So my dealer fixed my leak but wouldn't do the heads at the same time, they said I have plenty of time left on my warranty to do so I'll eventually be bringing it back to get it done. I consider it a lost opportunity.

Nothing new, the only reason I'm driving last FCA product. They don't care at all and will not do nothing when there's a serious problem.

I see this often with big companies - if you keep to their one-to-one process (phone calls or email or going to the dealer) they can limit your dissatisfaction / pass it around to staff whose sole job is to placate you and wear you out. The best way to get results is to use social media as they have teams of people who respond quickly and more effectively (I use this method such as @ChryslerCares or @Comcast when I have an problem with their products / services.

Re: New TSB 009-006-15

Thought I would take a second and give a progress report on the new heads installed back in Sept at 14600. Have put about 5k on them. Combo of a couple of long trips and mostly local stop and go. Everything fine to this point with no mil lights or fishbites. If this is the solution and so far it looks like it, I would want to know when the assembly line in Italy started using the new heads.

Have you noticed and change in your mpg since the fix? Better? Worse? Same?

Mine seems low right now since I got mine back 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping it's just the winter blend in the fuel, but it still seems low even for that.

My milage dropped after the new heads were replaced. In the middle of a buyback at this time. Too many problems with the 2014's. Hoping the problems are all fixed for the 16's.

Re: New TSB 009-006-15

Had 2 heads replaced in the engine last month, which took about 2 weeks. And now another 5 days without my jeep because some people just don't care about quality work. In the last month that makes a total of 3 weeks. It's great to make monthly payments and not even have what you're paying for 😡

I don't even know what to do any longer. Maybe I should just be done with Jeep all together.

The tech who sent that one out the door ought to be fired. I wouldn't have him working at my dealership.
