I have had the stock sump off several times so I know the removal process but just wondering if there are any plans for an access panel in the future.

-For the trans shield on the 5.7L does it sit over top of the existing plastic trans shield or is it in place of the existing trans shield. looks like it sits a little lower than the existing plastic one so was thinking it may be in addition to?

-the existing plastic trans shield on the 5.7L is fairly open on the sides, your trans shield appears to close the edges in more. does the addition of metal and closing the trans in a little more have any impact on any needed heat dissipation of the trans and have you tested for that?

Thanks, glad to se some options out their now for better coverage under the 2014/15 GC
Good day and glad to hear from you. In reference to your questions, both the Transmission and Front Sump Shields were designed to fit in place with the existing plastic OEM cover left in place. Since some dealerships tend to squawk if there OEM parts are removed and or use it as an excuse to deny warranties. Since it only takes literally a couple minutes to remove or install either shield, we have not designed an access panel into this first model however we did place a access hole for the trani drain plug which is not in the current photo. If it appears that an access panel is needed in the future for the Front Sump we may consider it though. In reference to additional heat, we have not run any major test for that but believe that it would probably help to dissipate the heat especially if running the thicker aluminum shield. Also yes the Trani shield was designed to have a litte more protection coverage then the OEM plastic. I design these for my Jeep actually with the concerns that I see to which Jeep left unprotected. Once I'm happy with it protecting my Jeep, then I offer it to the public. Lol. I hope I was able to answer or address all of your questions. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions. Best regards, Rex at shieldproductions.com

Also as a little note, if you notice our design is made without any major openings in the Front Sump which would give a branch or such of comparable size the ability to pass through, peirce and damage what it's supposed to protect. Our Shield/Skid plates completely Shield and Protect what it's covering.

Do you have a picture of the front sump shield from the front of the Jeep with the lower air dam off?

I'm curious how that looks. I occasionally venture into areas where I should take the front air dam off.

Hi and thanks for your inquiry. Sorry but unfortunately at this time we do not have an available photo with the front facia or air dam off since the Front Sump Shield was designed to install without having to remove anything from the Jeep except for some bolts and or screws. Best regards, Rex.

Hello all,
Just wanted to post to show how strong Aluminum actually is. We have read quite a few comments who do not believe aluminum is strong enough at 3/16 or 5mm. This photo is 2 full grown men at 370lbs, supported by just the tabs!
We will also post this weekend the front sump attached to the Jeep and being used to jack up the Jeep as well.

Incase anyone was wondering how strong the 3/16 aluminum Front Sump Shield was. This is the Ecodiesel lifted with the front tires one inch off of the ground being supported by the 3/16 Front Sump shield and the jack.
Best regards, Rex

Just so there is no confusion, these all can be ordered in stainless steel. It is much stronger but much heavier as well.
Best regards, Rex

Here are a couple of pics of the sump and trans skid plates installed. I'm planning on taking it to my uncle's shop and use his lift to get some better pics.
