How much, if you don't mind me asking, for the final customized version?

Cool! It is a bigger can with larger openings that fit the outlet and inlet of our jeeps. less air resistance = hopefully no codes for us. They have 3 sizes of cans I chose medium size (OCC2) because It's the largest that will fit.

Cost is $133 shipped but only down side is wait time because he custom makes it for you in the USA :-)

Re: oil catch can

Well I fitted a simple, cheap catch can, modified by stuffing it full of stainless mesh (scourers actually- it was just an empty can). It is all done with large radius bends and no restrictive small fittings. None of the original plumbing has been altered in any way, so easy to disconnect in minutes if I ever want to.
I've done over 1,000 klms since fitting, mostly towing a 3t van.
No error messages whatsoever and after pulling the top off the can the other day, I would estimate maybe a teaspoon of oil in the bottom, possibly more.

I would MUCH rather have that oil in the catch can than clogging up my turbo, inter cooler, and manifold.

Damn you! I hate the irony of having an enormous amount of background research and planning surpassed by a simple solution that didn't have to take into account hundreds of variables.

Haha, thanks for posting and proving this is a solvable problem.

1000kms isn't very far for it to catch that much oil. Sounds like it is working well.

My only concern is getting the fitment right, as a poor install could lead to crankcase over pressure, and that will kill things like oil seals, correct?

Re: oil catch can

I don't understand why you think a catch can that is custom made to match the inlet and outlet of our jeep Pcv line...would cause an over pressure of the crank case. There is no restrictive filter inside the can. Some people on here have used cans that do and it throws a code for differential pressure out of tolerance
