Oil Pressure Warning

3 Times this week I have gotten a low oil pressure warning while stopped. When the warning message displays the vehicle shifts to Neutral. Turn the vehicle off and then back on and everything is back to normal.

Oil level is good, and no leaks. Less than 1000miles on the car. Anyone else experience this?

Re: Oil Pressure Warning

Nope not me but my guess is that it might be a sensor issue. I would think their OBDII code reader would log this. Do you have a dealer visit scheduled? If this was mine I would be there as soon as I could...

Re: Oil Pressure Warning

Quick Update:

The dealer has been able to reproduce the problem. They are currently working with Chrysler engineering to develop a solution. Initial thoughts are a Torque Converter problem.

More information to follow.

Re: Oil Pressure Warning

2 days of searching and a few dead ends, problem solved. I Hope!

They found a wire to the crankshaft position sensor was not secured properly, and had rubbed through the insulation. It would short out, causing a stall.

Re: Oil Pressure Warning

Simple solutions are the best. That's even true for problems that never should have occurred.
