ORA2 Tires??

In what world are Michelin Latitude Tour tires an on/off road tire?? Did everyone else that got the ORA2 package get these crappy tires? I've got a set of Duratracs that are going on the vehicle so it isn't that big of a deal but I figured that a trail rated Jeep that was supposed to come with on/off road tires would have something better than these.

Re: ORA2 Tires??

I think it would have been nice to have some tire options, but on the other hand if you look at what comes stock on most wranglers (non rubicon) they are a far cry from duratracs yet they're trail rated.

honestly tires are pretty far down my list of issues/problems/quibbles with the diesel or 2015 GC in general.

Yes, and we would have thought our "Trail Rated" Jeeps would have had a proper DEF protection plate as well, but we all know the answer to that one.

It just kinda bugged me that it clearly states in the ORA2 package that it gets 18" rims and On/Off road tires. I would think they would at least be the LTX AT2's or some sort of all terrain tire. The latitudes are a highway tire....

Yes, we did. Not in this world. You are correct.
I didn't see any mileage drop by replacing them, so I can't even credit them with trying to bump mileage figures..

Having worn the tread off both LTX AT/2 and LTX MS/2, I'd argue that anyone who picks the AT/2 is just falling for a pretty face [the tread pattern]. They are noisier, with only marginally improved traction on rather tame off roading and don't have anywhere near the treadwear or the wet and cold weather traction of the MS/2

If the MS/2 is can't handle your off-roading, then go for a real off road tire.

The MS/2 would have made a little more sense. This thing has the Latitude Tours on it.
