Ordered a 75th edition diesel

Finally pulled the trigger on a Limited 75th edition ecodiesel. It will be my work rig replacing a 2002 Ram 2500 Cummins with 928,000 miles. Went with the adventure II, luxury, active safety, and towing packages. It will see lots of off road time so the transfer case and skid plates will really get a workout. Big reason for the luxury package was for the cooled seats. I spend lots of time in the saddle, so anything for a bit more comfort is much appreciated but really did not want the panoramic sunroof that comes with the package. Never will get opened, hope it does not leak.

My normal use will be the rear seats down and the back filled with work equipment totalling around 600 pounds. Tired of a driving a pickup, so my eye has been on GC for a while. No complaints with the Cummins, it was very trouble free after some initial injector pump issues and still runs great, but I no longer need to tow, and the ride is a bit harsh. Have been planning on getting the GC since 14 but wanted to let the early issues get sorted out first. Will probably do the GDE tune straightway. Doubt it will have the longevity of the truck it replaces, but 400K would be nice.

I am hearing delivery early to mid November. Ordered through Dave Smith in Kellogg Idaho.

Nice - I'm looking at a Trailhawk or 75th Limited order for spring delivery next year to replace my '14 Limited Ecodiesel (lease expires). I went from fullsize v8 gas pickups and high teens at best mpg to a '07 WK CRD years ago, then upgraded to the '14 WK2 Ecodiesel and have not looked back. They are comfortable, can tow my 14x7 enclosed trailer with ease. Hell I get 19-20 mpg towing at 65 mph. The WK2 platform works great as big enough to be light duty but small enough to drive normally and park in tight spots plus mpg real world is legit!

I had a GDE tune with DPF delete on my WK (went delete as the DPF clogged and dealer wanted $3,500 to replace it - so for $1k I got the tune delete pipe). I didn't do a tune on my WK2 as moved to an emissions checking state. I had the SCR cat problem but not until they worked out all the problems so it was a 24 hour dilemma and have had it pretty much trouble free.

You'll love the mileage though as I used to get 26-28 avg and 30-35 mpg highway. I just put on new tires Goodyear Wranglers and wow the mpg dropped by quite a bit. Now only avg 24-26 mpg and getting 28-32 mpg highway. Love the extra traction in the mud but not worth the 4-5 mpg hit.

Received a call from the dealer that the ED is not available in the 75th anniversary edition for 2017. Reordered as a limited.

PSK31....Have you thought of changing your order from a Limited to a Trailhawk? I say this because you mention a lot of off road use and I think the Trailhawk would meet your need and it has more subdued badges and looks a like the 75th Anniversary model with the gray or blacked out trim. Trailhawk with the LUX II package will give you the cooled seats (something that I won't go without my 2014 JGC has them).

Also with Milous message of the push back date of the Ecodiesel launch to 17 October 2016 you should be able to change to a Trailhawk if you wanted....Just food for thought

That sucks! I liked the color trims on it. It's not that trim level would be a major issue with the diesel. I have a limited with lux, or2 package and we love driving and owning it. I think you'll be very happy. I do miss the open bed but have a trailer so don't need it.

I remember pricing it both ways and the trailhawk ended up being more money for what appeared to be paint and decals compared to how we equipped the limited. Now if i could only loose that silly sunroof and still get the safety package, it would be a no brainer.

Yes, I can understand that my 2014 Limited is equipped just like a Trailhawk (check my signature). When I ordered the '14 Limited I wanted another Overland but it forced me to get the Tech package and back then I didn't want it. It was essentially 3k more for the Overland and another 2K for the Tech Package. When I saw that I could save 5K...I did the same thing and ordered the Limited. I will tell you.....you will be impressed where it will take you off road whether its a Limited or TrailHawk they are both equally as capable.
