Out with the old... In with the new

Jeep true to their word allowed me to order a replacement Overland Ecodiesel and bought back the original. Built June 19th with ORA2, lux and advanced tech in Deep Cherry. Brought it home today... It has 52 miles on it. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1404879102.723308.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1404879116.873682.jpg

Glad they came through for you. Did you ever hear the final outcome of your original Jeep? Were they ever able to get it going?

Nice! I've got the same color on mine.

They actually got it running early last week and had me drive it to my original dealer so that it didn't have to be trucked. That was a little weird because I had previously surrendered the keys and took my stuff out of it and never expected to see it again. It "seems" to run fine. I averaged close to 27mpg over the. 150 or so miles that I put on it.

Re: Out with the old... In with the new

Nice. Mine's going back to the dealer in a couple weeks. Jeep agreed on a trade with terms that make the balance on the new one near zero; definitely reasonable for my 2500 miles of use. New one rolls off the train on the 17th but I can't make it there until a week later.

If anyone finds a loaded limited true blue diesel with around 3000 miles in the PNW later this month, I would stay away unless you get a great deal or are ready to deal with potential trans issues later on.

I am impressed with how stand up seems to have been when a lemon unfortunately makes it through the system. Makes me glad I bought my JGC diesel and actually like it better than any other car I have owned...

Damn......1700 miles and this morning I got the service DEF See dealer message. I was hoping that I got lucky on the new one. Not a good way to start the month.

Yikes buddy. You've got some apparent bad luck. Sorry to hear.

Re: Out with the old... In with the new

What climate do you live in? I'm thinking it has to do with the weather - if you live in a very hot climate and park it often in a parking lot baking in the sun the DEF systems on these go bonkers. Since we got ours I've never put in more than 2 1/2 gallons of DEF at a time, usually just to fill it up to 50% so that I have fresh and long life DEF in the system at all times. I also don't park it (if I can help it) in a parking lot in the hot sun as it acts as a oven that is often 10-15 degrees hotter than the ambient air temp. Instead I park in the shade if I can find any.

To date I've got 7,700 miles on mine and the only DEF issue I had was from hitting a puddle on the highway which broke the injector. I relocated to NJ this past summer and we are seeing highs of mid 80's and I park it at our house which has nice mature trees and lotsa shade.
