Route 66 is a splendid one to behold
Re: Overland vs Limited Dilemma

If I had been $1200 from the Limited to the Overland, I would have gotten the Overland. I love the indigo blue/Jeep brown interior. There is no wrong choice here.

Re: Overland vs Limited Dilemma

Well I picked it up on Saturday. Oh man I think I made the right choice. The exterior is better than I expected, particularly in the sun. I like it! The interior is amazing. I didn't realize that not all Overland interiors came with white stitching on the leather dash. Mine has brown stitching. Much nicer, no reflection.

I love the Jeep and think the shipping delay on my original order may have been a blessing in disguise. This Jeep was ordered by another JeepGarage member. Whoever it was (name on the window sticker, but I don't remember off the top of my head!) had excellent taste in Jeeps!

The Jeep was flawless on the 350 mile trip home and the 100 miles I put on it yesterday. EVIC registered 29.9 MPG for the all highway 350 mile trip!

Re: Overland vs Limited Dilemma

I think if you are going to load a limited up with all the options you probably are better off going with the overland. My son got one and I think he kind of regrets it. Some of those added features are not all they are cracked up to be. Found they are more of a pain than anything. That being said lots of others rave about some of the features that he never uses. The interior is a lot nicer than the limited. 10 years down the road who knows but based on appearance only there is no comparison.

If you want a vehicle with all the toys I guess the overland is the way to go but having been in both an overland and I drive a limited I am not wishing I jumped up to the Overland.

Re: Overland vs Limited Dilemma

The thing is, I do want all the toys (diesel, Lux II, ORA II, ATG, 8.4AN) but I really don't like the Overland's interior all that much. It's just me, but I don't like the contrasting piping on the seats, don't like the wooden wheel, don't like the "open pore" wood, don't much like the leather on the upper dash and especially don't like the stitching reflecting on the windshield. Heck I don't even much care for the Overland logos on the seatbacks. On top of all that, I like the Limited's black carpet with the frost interior better than the Overland's light colored carpet.

And it looks like the Overland, similarly configured, is still about $2500 more than the Limited. What am I missing?

My exact thoughts also.

The other features: Power folding mirrors (would never use), auto dimming passenger mirror (non-dimming doesn't bother me), puddle lamps (huh?).

I also prefer the black carpet and frost interior. It just looks right in a Jeep to me. My previous ride had light carpet and it got filthy in no time...a constant battle to keep clean.

I also like the black plastic fender trim, especially on Max Steel since it really doesn't stand out. Its more durable and easier to clean.

I do regret not getting ATG just for ACC. I ordered early when it just came out and didn't realize the advantages.

There is no right choice, only preferences that serve individual needs.

I would consider one of the Grey colors if I did it again. I thought Max Steel would hide dirt better than black but it doesn't. The deep metallic content is BEAUTIFUL with the bluish black tint...but I have to wash it nearly every day! I love black vehicles so I guess I'm a gluten for punishment!

Congrats, buddy! Glad everything "worked out" - regardless of the path you took. The Jeep is now with you, and that's all that matters.

Yeah but that Crystal Granite color doesn't look all that clean to me even when it's clean. And everything turns green here in pollen season anyway – my black Yukon hasn't been black for many years. I would probably get black again if it weren't so ubiquitous these days.

Really sucks that Jeep gives problem Jeeps such a low priority.

Jeep heard me (us!). I got a call from them this morning... see My Post About It Here

Re: Overland vs Limited Dilemma

Cant decide on either Overland or Limited, price is the factor here...

The Jeep Australia website says that the Luxury Group II has:

Luxury Group II
-
O
-
-
  • Nappa Leather trimmed seats(1)

  • Ventilated front seats

  • Off-Road Adventure II (not available with 3.6L V6, 4x4 only)

  • Fuel tank, transfer case, underbody and front suspension skid plates

  • Quadra-DriveŽ II active full-time 4WD

  • Rear Electronic Limited Slip Differential (ELSD), 3.45 axle ratio, 230mm rear axle

  • 265/60/R18 Michelin Latitude all-season tyres, 18x8-inch polished aluminium wheels (Laredo style wheels)
Compare Models - Grand Cherokee

Is this right? Does all this come with it?
