Overland vs Limited Dilemma

Well here's my dilemma.

I have a True Blue Limited EcoDiesel 4x4, Black Interior, ORA II and Lux II on order. As you can see from my sig, it's having unknown "issues".

Dealer has an Overland EcoDiesel 4x4, Crystal Gray (NOT my favorite exterior color) with a Vesuvio Blue Interior (By Far my favorite interior color) in stock and ready to pick up. Has ORA II and Advanced tech. Build date 2/2014.

I'm having a hard time with this one. Don't really want to spend the extra money on an Overland, but I'm a techie and will enjoy the advanced tech features. I am not to fond of crystal gray, but LOVE the Vesuvio blue interior. Not real keen on the Limited's black interior, especially to copper colored surrounds. And the kicker...I'm going to lose my borrowed car in 2-3 weeks.

I am "stuck" with this vehicle for at least the next ten years. Not looking for anyone to make the decision for me, but some opinions might help. Need to make a decision before the Overland is sold.

Thanks!

Re: Overland vs Limited Dilemma

If it's not your favorite color, and you are going to look at it for 10 years ... if color matters to you at all, pass.

Go to Jeep.com, 'build' the car you want (ordered) and do a search. There may be one that you can either buy from another dealer, or have your chosen dealer get for you.

Whatever you do, don't be rushed into making a decision because you are nervous that one particular Jeep will be sold. There are more out there, and more on the way.

Re: Overland vs Limited Dilemma

You don't mention anything about the price difference between the two. I know the Overland will have the adjusted price. I went through a similar issue - in that the Billet I was expecting ended up with damage...and sat around forever in Java. When I originally went to purchase, I wanted a white, but silver was all that was available. Ended up with the car I wanted from the start, which was the white one, and I'm much happier for it.

I like Bill's recommendation to search for the same car you're waiting for. Your dealer should be able to get it for you. Otherwise, keep hitting up Milous, and take your issue up the Chrysler food chain to see what the problem is with your delivery.

Personally...and this is just me...I'd stick with the Limited.

Re: Overland vs Limited Dilemma

Price difference is $4500ish. Overland has advanced tech, my ordered limited does not which is about half of the price difference.

I did search online. Nothing is configured like the one I ordered, nothing even with the distance setting at 200+ miles. ONE overland is perfectly configured, but 900 miles away and wouldn't work with the group buy.

I should point out that the dealer (Nader) is applying absolute NO pressure for me to make a decision. All pressure is coming internally from my situation. I'm losing my car in 2-3 weeks. We could struggle with one car for a very short time, but after that it becomes a crisis. A bird in hand is what is tempting me to go the Overland route.

Anyway, having said all that...Willx has just come through for me. Looks like there are no "holds" on my ordered LTD, so it could ship tomorrow or a month from tomorrow. Good news is it isn't damaged in any way, essentially it's just in storage waiting for a ride to DC.

Because of that, I'm going to wait it out and get the one I ordered...for now. Ask me after two more weeks of "Ramp Compare Inventory" and I may change my mind.

Thanks for the opinions guys, I appreciate your objective perspectives.

Your Jeep is the one I'd really love to have. Color combo anyway. :-)

If Nader had a true blue diesel Overland with the Vesuvio interior and ORA II? I'd be in DC NOW picking it up. :-)

You will love the Overland interior. Like you, when I bought mine it wasn't the color that I wanted. In fact it wasn't on my long list. But I used that to negotiate a better price. And I learned to like the color.

Re: Overland vs Limited Dilemma

Allow me to chime in since I just went from a Limited to an Overland..

To me, its a no brainer, you spend 100% of the time INSIDE the car.
The Overland interior is head and shoulders above the Limited.
The technology & quadra trac are better & the Overland rides nicer.

There's not 1 thing I can honestly say that the Limited has over the Overland. You're going to have the car for 10 years, so the difference boils down to $450 a year or $37.50 a month...

Sit in the Overland, then sit in a Limited....
I guarantee you, the feeling you get in the luxurious Overland is well worth the difference in price.. PLUS it has the Indigo Blue/Jeep Brown interior you like!! Here's some teaser pics.. Can't you just envision yourself in this??
