Yep...same here. I tried and no combo of pedals did anything unexpected. Another Internet theory foiled.

Re: P1DB8 and P1DAA Codes Tonight

Strange timing, I just got the P1DB8 code last night. Jeep has about 17500 miles on it and haven't had any issues yet. Not sure whether to clear it and wait and see if it comes back or take it to the dealer since it is under warranty.

Re: P1DB8 and P1DAA Codes Tonight

I am a left foot braker and do get Service Electronic Throttle messages sometimes and found out it was me having my feet on both pedals simultaneously. I get it from time to time and it prevents me from accelerating until I take them off then it's normal. If I drive with only my right foot then I never get it. I don't have a scanner so can't see the code if any.

Re: P1DB8 and P1DAA Codes Tonight

Well the light went out while my wife was taking it to the dealership, but she went by anyway. She said there were several software updates for Transmission and lighting that they did, I haven't seen any paperwork and this is through a text with my wife so the detail is a bit sketchy. There is a service bulletin they are going to address next week in regards to a DEF line retention strap. So hopefully this was all just an errant code. The fact that they couldn't tell us exactly what it means is a bit troubling to me though.

You can wire tie the def line to the plastic runner yourself in less than 60 seconds if you want to avoid another visit. Its 3 wire ties...no joke.

See the third pic in this post...

Re: P1DB8 and P1DAA Codes Tonight

yeah the dealer cleared the codes, but didn't give me much info. I remember him saying that one of the codes was something about an application of torque from the transmission. i saw the code after my girlfriend drove the car for the first time. methinks she wasn't used to the electronic shift and may have inadvertently hit the gas while the car was not in drive. either way the dealer said the car is fine, and no codes have come up since.

I was able to get the EVIC message by stepping on brake and accelerator simultaneously while traveling at speed. Go figure.....

I have not done the test but I expect speed to be related.
