Angry P20EE: SCR NOx Trouble Code

So "Big Red" hit 7800 miles today and threw the following code to mark the milestone:

Confirmed Trouble Codes
-P20EE: SCR NOx Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) (Powertrain, Generic)

...or so says my little OBDII Bluetooth secret decoder box. I reset the code just to see if it was a fluke. I had just pulled away from the carwash thought maybe it had something to do with it.

Anyone get this code before? Is it going to mean a trip to the stealership for me?

Re: P20EE: SCR NOx Trouble Code

Yes, unfortunately it will mean a trip to the dealer or actually 2 or 3 trips in all likelihood. First they will reprogram your PCM with the latest software and see if that works but like many of us it does not fix the recurring P20EE trouble code. Ultimately they will order a new SCR and you wait one to several weeks for it to show up. Mine started acting up at 8300 miles. Be patient.....the dealer has to go through a protocol with Chrysler before they get approval to replace the converter.

Please don't erase codes as you will just prolong getting the problem fixed. There are a few threads in this forum for P20EE. Please read them they sure helped me out. The most recent is "MIL & P20EE again & again & again" started by echo7tango. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Re: P20EE: SCR NOx Trouble Code

P20EE is one of the most common DTC's mentioned on this forum; I believe there's a TSB for the issue to perform reprogram as stated above, most likely will need SCR/DPF Catalyst replaced.

Then you have the 2nd most common issue, "Incorrect Diesel Exhaust Fluid - See Dealer" ; which apparently is an issue with the SCR injector, fixed by replacing the injector from what I can tell, haven't experience this issue yet...

Re: P20EE: SCR NOx Trouble Code

Well I have not scanned mine but if that code comes up, I will not clear it rather print the diagnostics report and bring it with me when I go in to see the dealer for the MIL that came on 4days ago. Dealer cannot get me in until July 2nd.

Should I ask for a loner vehicle or how long will it take?

Re: P20EE: SCR NOx Trouble Code

Scanned my truck this afternoon using BlueDriver. My Confirmed Codes are as follows:

-P0171 (System Too Lean Bank 1)
-P20EE (SCR NOX Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1...what this thread has been talking about)
-P0133 (2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 1 Sensor 1)

This sounds great!!!

Have been driving over 250miles with these on while the Dealer tries to get me in to 'SCAN' with their equipment!

New Codes P0133 and P0171 after CAT replacement

OK - Now what?!
No major issues with my 2014 until 18,690 when P20EE first appeared. They did a manual regen to clear the code but it reappeared not long after. The dealer installed a new CAT at 18,729 miles.

At 19,422 or 692 miles later the MIL illuminated for a P0133 code - O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1). This disappeared about 56 miles later.

Today, at 19,703 or 974 miles after replacing the CAT, the MIL illuminated again and I read the P0133 code again as well as P0171 - System too lean (Bank 1).

What should I expect now???
