My experience with diesel CAI and exhaust mods are based on my 7.3 Powerstroke. The biggest concern in a tuned diesel is heat removal in the exhaust. The less restrictions in the airflow path, the lower the exhaust gas temperatures. I took my stock airbox off and went to a semi- truck parts store and bought a giant paper canister filter. Its 8" diameter and 15" long. My EGT while towing dropped 100°F. I also fabricated a 5" straight pipe exhaust split to 4" duals with no mufflers....good for another 100°F. I never tested for performance but I can pull my 12k trailer with no worries of exceeding max EGT on all but the worst grades with +60hp Tow mode on my tuner.
With the GC, I'd hope the turbo would spool quicker and pull a little harder to complement the Bluespark.
