Poet Steering Resevoir Leak

Taking the Jeep in tomorrow for a look see at my power steering reservoir. The ride is 2 years and 4 months old. No lose until the last 6 months. I had to add about 8 oz of Pentosin CFS-11 to bring it to mid point. Remember our diesel takes
MS 11655 which Pentosin is compatible with (my BMW uses the same fluid).
I don't see many posts about this so will report what they discover.

Re: Poet Steering Resevoir Leak

Had similar issue. Half the reservoir was on my garage floor. Dealer replaced the high-pressure hose for power steering and said it was a common issue for these vehicles. No further issues since.

Re: Poet Steering Resevoir Leak

Dealership lead tech could find nothing. He contacted Jeep and a number of reports of lowered power steering fluid lever with no obvious cause.
Be aware I was charged a
Diagnostic fee so unless you have an obvious leak take it to them to too off and let them have it reported.
I have 8/120 service plan too.

Re: Poet Steering Resevoir Leak

I had low power steering fluid with no leaks visible. I chalked it up to the system not being properly burped by the factory and topped it off. I haven't seen the level fall since then.

Re: Poet Steering Resevoir Leak

I would believe that had this not taken 28 months to happen getting lower everyday. I hope that is what it is. Lead tech mentioned that but also said Jeep is puzzled about this.
I will keep my eye on it.
Love this ride however so if this is all the issue besides the CAT I am happy...
