I'm pretty sure it's based off where you reside.

Re: Possible buy-back, or other recourse? What can I reasonably expect from Jeep?

Nah I got my money for the hold back because this gl was such a good deal and also with used Mercedes they give you unlimited miles warranty for the first 5 years and you can add 2 more years on top of that for $6k but I got it for $3500 and includes service up to 80k.

I really wanted the gls but didn't want the 450 and the 550 was just out of my reach. I would have considered the 350 diesel but the EPA has not certified a lot of the 17's so they are sitting at the docks.

Funny thing was on my way into turning it over, I had to call a tow truck half way to the dealer because the injection pump took a shit on me. No joke!!!
If I can make this work to get a buyback...I'm hoping to get a GL450. I came from a BMW X3 35i M-sport into the Jeep and own a Porsche C4s...there is nothing like German engineering. Took a chance on the Jeep GC and regret it.

I have always been a mopar , jeep Ram guy. And still have my 06 cummins that has 400k on it and it purrs so nice. I will never give it up. But man, I swear they are not built the same any more. Seems like the guys take longer lunches now when building the newer cars lol.

I grew up with a German dad and he had nothing but mercedes. I loved them so much. Now that I'm a big boy lol, I just had to get one. Oh man are they nice. I wish I could have got a gls but the unlimited mile warranty on the used Mercedes is 2nd to none. So much confidence in owning one bs a newer one. Although now I'm obsessed with MB now , I really want a c63 amg sooooo bad for a daily driver. The gl550 is the soccer dad ride ha!!

Received a message from a CAC Case manager in Chrysler's dispute resolution center today and playing phone tag. Any advice on how to handle this first phone call? Where does the process go from here? PM me if you desire and I can give you a private email address. - Thanks in advance. - Kenny

Be nice but know that they are not on your side. They may seem like they are though as they are super nice most of time. Make sure you voice your opinions and be specific on your issues. Also express to them how you have no more faith in their products.

I do not want to be negative but I have had 8-9 case numbers and this group is not very good outside of coordination of appointments and schedules for you. Which I did not need a third party for. If you have an issue with service performed at a specific dealer they can help with that however they openly admitted the #1 solution is to change dealers.
Always be nice but expect very little. If you are looking for a buyback be clear about this up front as the response will surprise you and save you time and frustration. Buybacks are handled by a 3rd party company for FCA and you are a few referral steps away from them at this point.

Re: Possible buy-back, or other recourse? What can I reasonably expect from Jeep?

I just received my case # today and took everyone's advice.... tried to be nice and told them I didn't trust my diesel to take on trips because of all of the issues. Off the bat the guy offered an extended warranty as an option but I told him I preferred to get into a different vehicle because I really don't trust this one with or without warranty. I'm supposed to hear back by Friday, we shall see how this turns out!

EDIT: The guy mentioned "CDI" as an option, he said this is how they can give "substantial" discounts on new vehicles for situations like this. Is he referring to a "buyback" with a discount to get me into a new vehicle or do you guys think he is just saying they'd give me something dumb like Supplier pricing? Never heard "CDI" before....
