As she should. Please let us know what you both decide. It'll be interesting to see what you get.

She's leaning toward the Lincoln MKT. I'm warming to the idea.

Nice. Quite different from a Cadillac SRX (from your thread).

Test drove SRS-4 3.6. vs Lincoln MKT AWD EcoBoost and it was no contest. They're both run the same price, but with much bigger incentives from Lincoln.

Re: Possible buy-back, or other recourse? What can I reasonably expect from Jeep?

Today marks the completion of the replacement! It took a while, and even little details like keeping my tires (swapping tires from the 2014 and mounted onto the new 2016), getting the ORA-II skid plates and the $1,000 for them and their installation, it took patience and perseverance. But all is done. (pretty much; the skid plates arrive in a day or two, and they should be installed next week)

About the tires, my 2014 rims had minor scratches on them. Mostly due to the low 265/50s they came with, and the first scratch came when it was 2 months old climbing the obstacles at Hollister Hills. So, it took a while to move all eight tires. I am grateful they let me keep the new rims.

My new JGC CRD had 6 miles on the clock. It's fun to have a brand-new car again. I usually go 10-15 years between new cars.

About the lemon law replacement process, along the way I encountered three difficult, stubborn, butt-headed people as I chased this issue through FCA and the related people. It can be easy to let my blood boil but you just have to breathe in, breathe out, and not get agitated. Just stick to the facts and press my case.

The old one is on the left and the new on the right.

Wish you all the best this time around Tango. I'm not sure how you can take the ride again given the astounding lack of customer support. I will let you know how mine turns out when I get the check from FCA through my attorney.

Yeah Rule I can certainly understand how you feel that way. My wife and I thought about it, since we had this do-over, and we decided to get another JGC CRD. We didn't have to think much on it.

Our reasons are:

- the CRD's mileage and range for a rig this capable off road and with good towing ability
- we like its looks
- it is nicely appointed and is the most luxurious car we've owned
- it is a very comfortable long-distance road trip cruiser
- it is fast and powerful enough for our needs (but hey that SR/T V-8 is fun!! to drive!)
- it is a decently capable offroader in stock condition
- it tows well
- and, it's a Jeep!!!

For us, this JGC CRD just fits us well.*

* - When it runs as intended, that is.

Lemon law is only one of the many potential avenues of recourse. All manufacturers drag the process out as long as possible hopping you go away. Once you get to this point they have already dismissed " satisfaction" and will be looking to do what they can to achieve their own goals. Be smart. They are professionals who handle this daily.
