Re: Possible buy-back, or other recourse? What can I reasonably expect from Jeep?

I have already attempted to trade out at an alternate FCA dealer however after some typical back and forth on the extremely low trade in # they basically told me the JGC would be an auction vehicle for them as they have the repair history and would not want to pass on the trouble to one of thier potential customers.

I do not exactly qualify for Lemon law as the problems are many and the ones that repeat where first reported past the original 12 months. I really like the Jeep Grand Cherokee just this one has been a nightmare. From the engine, transmission to radio and everything in between.

Interesting. Hmmm, my settlement agreement did not include that restriction.

This is the exact wording:

"We further agree that the amounts of any payments made pursuant to this agreement shall
remain confidential and shall not be disclosed by ourselves, our agents, our representatives or anyone
acting on our behalf to anyone for any purpose with the exception of such disclosure as necessary or
required by law. This agreement shall not prevent, preclude or in anyway limit me from disclosing
the problem(s) we experienced with the vehicle pursuant to California Civil Code Section 1793.26."

Thanks for jogging my memory. Mine had that (or similar) too.

It really is great that it worked out for you guys. But seems really strange the lengths one has to go to to get FCA to back thier product and then the need to have a non-disclosure agreement.

I honestly don't think that's FCA's language as much as it is statutory boilerplate for executing a settlement under the Song-Beverly Act.

So FCA finally got back to us and agreed on the buy back. Now I'm just compiling all the paper work for all payments made, payoff amount, registration fees, smog check fees etc so they can come up with a number I will agree on.

They also offered me a 2016 replacement with max care which I gracefully said no to lol. I'm really wanting a 2017 GLS now . Need more room and want to try something luxurious.

Congrats Dom! It takes a while from the time you sign the agreement to when you actually go through the "turn-in" process and the guy who did mine was a real tool. But I'm glad it's over and my wife is very happy with her new Lincoln MKT.

My lawyer said that it will take 2 to for weeks max for me to turn in the jeep and for them to cut the check.

Honestly going to miss the jeep because I have always wanted a grand Cherokee since high school and when I bought this it was nice when it worked properly. But I test drove a GLS and holy crap is it nice. Might consider a gas version as well. But I'm a diesel head so we'll see.

GLS looks niiiice, wish they would make a shorter version of it, the GLE doesn't look as good I find.I would have gone for it if it was a short GLS!!

GLS nicely equipped will problably set you back 90k! so it better be nice😃
