Hi All,
I've had my '14 Overland Diesel for nearly 6 months now and I've been bothered by a squeak/whining noise coming from the power steering during low speed turns. First, please note that this was not simply the sound of the tires on asphalt/concrete, etc. as would be most obvious. It is in fact coming from the steering system.
I just brought the car in for my first service last week, confident that the dealer would find something wrong with the system, but the dealer stated that the sound I was hearing was normal in the hyrdo-electric system in the vehicle and was coming from the electric motor engaging. I didn't have time to ask to drive another vehicle to see if he was correct, but has anyone else noticed this while pulling into a garage or parallel parking, etc.? I will admit you need to be in a fairly quiet area to notice the sound, but I guess I am just somewhat surprised given the overall level of refinement and quality of these vehicles that this condition is considered acceptable.
Love to hear any thoughts/feedback from other owners.
