Thanks for the web site didn't know that River Oaks puts those out and yes sure looks like my ride.
Just checked the VIN they show and yes that is mine...
Cheers...
Congrats on the arrival of the new Jeep. I feel your pain of having to wait to pick it up. I had to wait about 10 days after mine was delivered before I was able to fly down an pick up the Jeep. Mark will keep it stored in a sheltered building for you. Just make sure you e-mail him 2 days before with your expectations to expedite your time at the dealership. Brainstormer took 3 hours, I had my time down to just over an hour.
I told Mark I wanted the DEF topped off, washed the day before, and front license bracket installed. I did a quick walk around visual inspection. I brought the checklist from another thread, but decided not to use it, as I knew I was taking it home anyway, unless I saw major issues on delivery. Good thing, as when I got home it took me hours to do the inspection based on the list in the other thread. I only found a few small things, and will have the dealer here in Minnesota deal with it when I bring it in for service.
Make sure you stay in a hotel by the dealership, as the morning commute from the airport will take a long time.
Good luck with the trip, and safe travels my friend.

Similar for me, coming from a modified WRX. Luckily I've been driving my sister's Scion with an automatic trans so it won't be learning to keep my left foot still AND not flipping it over....whenever it gets built.

Looks like you might be right behind me on the assembly line, they should be getting built any day now to get to us in the next 2 weeks.

You should get used to keep your left foot away from the brake. The 14 JGC's take umbrage if the PCM senses that both brake and accelerator pedals are touched and will even sometimes generate a diagnostic error code on it.

Thanks. Brainstormer is going to pick me up (assuming his work schedule permits) and get me to River Oaks. I like you will do a quick walk around and make sure tire pressures are good, oil level is good and nothing else is off. If the diesel tank isn't full I will see if I can just scan and provide to Mark for reimbursement. Not wanting to back track if traffic is a bear.
Mark told me to just take a cab and he would reimburse me but prefer another SFU member since we have a lot in common.

I am sure you have your SFU all sorted out during the ride back to MN. I plan to spend time detailing the exterior and interior then learn learn learn UConnect.

Patience is all I need to have now lol.
Cheers all...

1Zach1: :: my bet/ hope, if jeep is going to stick to their estimate, that they start the build Monday.

Netboy: thanks for the heads up, I had seen something about that mentioned in another thread...I'll have to kick the habit. I've been pretty good at "retiring" my left leg so far. Hopefully it's just a Favre-tirement and I get another standard in the future!

I figured they wouldn't be up and running on Monday due to the holiday, so I was hoping we'd see them move tonight/tomorrow

Re: Production Scheduled to Trim?

Someone that's more in the know May be able to correct me, but I recall reading that there was one shift (versus 3 normally) on Christmas and New Years days. I didn't think too many people get MLKJR day off except us .gov/.mil. The sooner the better!!

There is a Shell station a block away. When you pick it up and go for a quick test drive, take a right out of the lot, go a block - under the bridge, and it will be on your left. Fill up, and bring your receipt back, and he will reimburse you on the spot. Vtail and I took our SFU's to his hanger, and detailed our new rides. We used a blue clay bar on both of them, and put on a sealant. The sealant protects a lot better than wax. I really like the stuff from chemicalguys.com I spent a small fortune on it, but in the end, it looks awesome. I recommend the jet seal sealant - goes on easy, and protects great. On youtube, the chemical guys have quite a few videos on detailing with their products. Hopefully you can contain yourself while you wait for the flight. Good luck, and congrats. Say hi to Jerry for me when you see him. He is a great guy, and one of the original "three stooges" that toured the JGC plant.

Thanks. I see thechemicalguys stuff on autogeek. I use Klasse on most of my rides as a good sealer and I do have some good clay bar from autogeek.
Planning to get the time to do this sometime mid Feb I hope.
It would be good to just get the tank filled and depart once Mark reimburses me as I bet I could make it home non stop without refueling but I plan to refuel as I will chicken ha ha.
The waiting is the tough part now that it is sitting there...
Cheers

And guys (kpow and 1Zack1) don't hold your breath on the delivery dates. Mine was to be 27 DEC which I thought was ridiculous and it was. Mine was delivered yesterday the 16th. 5 weeks is possible but 6 weeks is more like it.

To be honest when mine left the plant on the train the trip was very quick to Houston.
Good luck...

They put the tire dressing on pretty wet and thick. You might want to tell them not to put it on or take a rag with you to wipe the excess off. I was evening out the tire pressures on mine this morning and noticed the tire dressing had flung off and is all over the edges of the wheel wells and all down the sides of the rocker panels from the front wheel to the rear door and up to about the Grand Cherokee badging.
