It won't be KZ until it goes past that LAST barcode scanner and rolls out of the door with a window sticker... and tire pressure label... and build sticker... and the stupid warning about parts that may contain mercury. I've done that before, it's not a bad job but it sounds a heck of a lot easier than it is, and here's why...

if you put the wrong sticker on...

$10,000 fine for the company.

Yeah I hated doing labels. I liked water leak inspection when working over there. One day I had no choice and I caught an SRT with the "K" missing out of GRAND CHEROKEE and the plant manager came down himself to thank me for paying so much attention to detail.

Mine finally is on a train.

So maybe I'll actually get it on the 6th of Jan.

Re: Production Scheduled to Trim?

Well after 12 days sitting at the factory mine was released a day or so ago. You know this is a lottery. Mine was built on the 18th along with a number of other JGCs and some are already delivered. Mine is still sitting at the factory to be shipped. And it isn't because it is a diesel because some that are diesels built the same day as mine are gone and delivered. I am beginning to think it is where mine is going more so than anything else.
I am guessing but I bet large volume dealerships don't get drips and drabs but large quantities which ship by train only a couple times a month. wraab and a bunch of other JGCs are sitting 20 miles from the dealer and might get delivered today. Pretty interesting logistics if what I think is true. I am sure this is the most efficient method of shipping because by now the manufacturers have this down to a science...

That makes sense. I now have an estimated date of 1/7 to dealer.

wraab
I see yours is finally off the railcar so hope it makes it to River Oak soon.
I think grandmaster, myself and others are waiting on a train to return before they let ours go (at least that is my guess)...

Haha - you're more OCD than me because I just checked after I saw your comment. I've noticed with several other jeeps, that once they are unloaded they are delivered the next day. Let's hope that's the case for me.

And hopefully y'all's gets on a train soon and to Houston before you leave.

I am sure they are a pretty well oiled machine, but man watching our jeeps on MOTS sure makes you question that! The bouncing back and forth from facility to facility, going from staged for shipping back to in bay etc even before plant release. I am sure there is a method to the madness...but not being an insider an knowing, it looks a little chaotic from the outside looking in. I also find it interesting that I have an estimated delivery date of 1/13 and you have 1/14...I would think they should be the same.

heres to hoping we see ours on 1/14!

Re: Production Scheduled to Trim?

Grandmaster
I'm with you there.
I am fine whenever it comes in but if it really comes in on the 14th I can't come get it until the 4th of FEB since I am on vacation and that would really suck.
Hope wraab gets his tomorrow as that would be what his delivery date originally was.

27 DEC delivery date when I saw it a while back was "What are they smoking". However I did see some JGCs built the 18-19th and delivered then including the diesel.

Fingers crossed for all of us...
