Re: Production Scheduled to Trim?

Grandmaster you are finally on a train headed south. I hope I am a day or so behind you. Based on wraab's delivery I think the actual delivery is going to be pretty close to on time...
Cheers

I can't believe my jeep is finally on its way. I was hoping to see wraab get his yesterday as that might have given me hope to pick mine up next weekend. hopefully yours will get on its way soon.

Re: Production Scheduled to Trim?

Seeing that I was 1 day behind you but now close to 3-4 days behind you it is now optimistic for delivery on the 14th.
You are in great shape and wraab is just waiting for the truck to pop this into River Oaks.
Happy for you guys. I am STILL stuck in the plant since build on the 18th...

Looks like yours is now just a day behind mine leaving Salem, IL. I probably won't be able to get back to Houston until later in the month, so you'll most likely pick yours up before I will. Congrats!

I am beginning to think it is where mine is going more so than anything else.
I am guessing but I bet large volume dealerships don't get drips and drabs but large quantities which ship by train only a couple times a month. wraab and a bunch of other JGCs are sitting 20 miles from the dealer and might get delivered today. Pretty interesting logistics if what I think is true. I am sure this is the most efficient method of shipping because by now the manufacturers have this down to a science...
There's a heck of a lot more to it than that too, BEFORE it even hits KZ!!!!!

Re: Production Scheduled to Trim?

I went through the Chevy Blazer factory when I ordered one. It was parts in Blazer's out and was very cool to see the whole process.
I am sure JNAP is the same except I will never get to see the behind the scenes action Marlon is talking about.
You just can't be a guy that likes mechanical things and not be interested in this.
I plan to visit the plant for a tour this summer and see them in action.

I'm just now annoyed - 5 days in the rail yard? Really?

I'm pretty patient but this is borderline torture. This morning check still has it sitting there - maybe it'll get delivered later today.

Re: Production Scheduled to Trim?

wraab
Fingers crossed for you. I now think the 14th is optimistic since mine has yet to leave the plant and the weather in Detroit isn't the best in the world. I now plan to just book my flight for 4 FEB which means it will sit in the covered area Shannon talked about. I plan to shoot Mark a note when it comes in to be sure to not to drill for the front plate, DEF filled, tank filled and UConnect current. Once I get there I can do the inspection using the guide provided and if things aren't right (DEF tank not full as a guess) I will just wait for them to get it right.

How does one vehicle produced earlier in the day not get out of the plant and shipped when one LATER in the day exactly the same configuration to include color make it out and arrive a week earlier? Now that logistics tail I would like to see because it makes no sense to me.

Hey at least we didn't order in August and not get them until late October or November...

Thanks fun!

At this point I've quit trying to figure out their logistics since I'm a day away - but man, something is funky.

I've already sent Mark several notes, and highlighted not drilling into the bumper. I'll do it again once I see it on it's way. I also gave him the same list as you stated above. I do need to go find the latest checklist and print it out for delivery. Part of the reason I was hoping for Saturday was to be able to inspect the body in the daylight.

Re: Production Scheduled to Trim?

It makes sense but what is weird is mine was built before yours the same day and is virtually the same configuration but arrives most likely a week later. I think the 17th is accurate given I am still at the plant.
Love to hear how yours goes and nice you don't have a long drive to get it. I am actually looking forward to driving it back as a shake down trip to Florida. I think UConnect is going to take some seat time to understand all the functionality...
