questions DEF gauge & regen

2 questions:
I don't believe my ECO JGC has gone thru a regen as yet...1700 km...at what point should this occur?

Is there supposed to be a gauge to monitor DEF levels like a fuel gauge?
I looked thru settings and don't see as an option to display.

Re: questions DEF gauge & regen

If it's working properly, you'll never see any messages indicating regen.

The DEF gauge is two screens up from the fuel economy gauge. Then several screens to the right.

You'll notice a regeneration at some point when you get out of the car. Unique smell the first couple times and you can hear the scr ticking because it's so hot. In 5000kms its only told me to keep driving once to finish a regeneration. Otherwise it does active regens on its own. If you do mostly hwy then you'll likely never see a message.

As mentioned Def gauge is on the evic and can be found using the steering wheel buttons. On same screen that has oil/Trans temp etc.

Thanks guys. Yes I 'm doing a lot of highway driving so perhaptit's is going on and I, don't notice.
I'll play with the evic to locate the gauge. I 've been keeping the econo screen up

Re: questions DEF gauge & regen

A regen occurs as needed, usually within a couple hundred miles. You can monitor the CAT B1S1 temperature sensor with an OBD II adapter and an app (I use the Torque app on a tablet) to see when regen occurs. The temperature will rise significantly above normal for about ten minutes or so. For example, the normal CAT B1S1 temp (when not under load) is below 800F but will be above 1000F during regen. I set the Torque app to flash the display of the CAT B1S1 temperature when it is above 1080F, which is typically above the load temperature, to indicate when a regen is occurring.

(About load temperature, when towing the CAT B1S1 temperature will rise above 1000F even when a regen is not happening.)
