Radio (not XM) reception failing?

Alas, my thus far flawless ride may have an issue...

My SFU was born on Dec 4 (2013), and when we picked her up 3 weeks ago, I do not recall there being ANY issues with radio reception. Over the last few days, I noticed the station we normally listen to was getting "fuzzy". I searched around for the other stations, and the radio didn't find any! Went to my 16 year old clock radio in my room, and had a hard time NOT finding a station. Clearly, something is up with either the antenna or the Main radio unit.

Anyone else experiencing something like this on the recent (or not so recent) builds?

Re: Radio (not XM) reception failing?

Sounds like a failing amp in your antenna or head unit...

Re: Radio (not XM) reception failing?

FM reception is pretty poor for us. Stations I easily get with my Ford sedan that has the aerial in the rear window are very poor in the GC.

Re: Radio (not XM) reception failing?

Mine was born two days before yours and the reception is just ok. My other car gets quite a few more stations and more are of listenable quality. There has been no change.

Re: Radio (not XM) reception failing?

UPDATE: Finally brought it in to dealer yesterday (was on vacation for a bit, then had to schedule it in between flu outbreaks at the dealer - yeesh!).

They agreed something was wrong, but couldn't fix it. Replacement unit on the way.

So...anyone know how to backup/restore all my settings so that I can just plug in a usb stick and put everything the way it was once the new one is in?

However the TSB calls out XM as the bad reception and not the actual local radio stations.

Re: Radio (not XM) reception failing?

Correct - AM and SXM come in just fine. Additionally, FM came in great at delivery. I was hoping for a wiring/ground issue, but it appears to be a radio failure. At Six Sigma manufacturing standards (which are rarely met, just strived for), 99.9999999% of the components won't fail. So... you can all thank me for finding the one in 10 Million that did!
