Think I need to find another dealer and somewhere else for future oil changes. Milage was ~5200.
The Oil is expensive, hoping that comes down. There are people buying it on Amazon.

Re: Rapidly deteriorating oil life

I updated my PCM today and also had the oil changed. I waited for the vehicle at the dealership and it took about 2-1/2 hours. They installed the update fairly quick then I had to wait for the oil change as they were super busy. The oil change was $93.00 with the receipt saying they used Mobile 1 oil...I will take them at their word for that since they stipulated it on the receipt. I will most definitely be going back to my dealer for future oil changes.

I'd bet money they used normal M1 not one that meets the certification for this motor.

Ya, that doesn't sound right. Mobile 1 ESP 10W30 would be more money than that and I know that Chrysler is not supplying the ESP through the chain last time I checked....

I could be wrong, but that doesn't sound like the right oil to me.

Re: Rapidly deteriorating oil life

OK so considering the Filter is about $50.00 and the oil from Amazon (mobil 1 ESP) is $103.88 for 12 (or $68.56 for the amount you need) I am definitely thinking your dealer put the WRONG oil in and would go back ASAP and ask your dealer if they are going to pay for your motor.

The big break offered was the Oil filter List price $41.70... Net price $8.25

Oil was List price $9.20 with the Net price 8 @ $6.25

You need to tell us where your dealer is.... It might be worth me driving there for oil changes. The Pennzoil part number is genuine and it all makes sense except for the price but good for YOU!!!

Seems like quite a coincidence and would imply a 10,000 mile interval between changes. Will keep you all posted if oil life veers from a straight line.

My oil life has been linear too. Now at 5000 miles and 50% life. Thinking about this, it makes sense. It is not a coincidence. The algorithm is for 10,000 miles to be 100% life under "normal" conditions. The algorithm uses the operating conditions and makes a calculation. If the result is within the normal range then you get the linear output. If the result is outside the normal range you get an adjusted output. My driving has been nearly all long highway trips, moderate towing, and non-frigid weather. Apparently, that puts my engine on the normal line for oil life.

BTW, I have not had the TSB update and my build was November, 2013.

Re: Rapidly deteriorating oil life

Build late DEC 13 and had the SB performed. Was at 26% at 3200 miles and now at 3850 miles and still at 26%. I think they nailed it for my driving.
Took maybe 1 1/2 hours...

Re: Rapidly deteriorating oil life

TSB definitely made a difference. Before the TSB application oil life would change at a rate of 100 miles per 1%. After the TSB I've been getting close to 600 mile per 1% with similar driving style.
