Reese DualCam for towing

While I wait for the Jeep dealer to figure out why my GC won't start, thought I'd share my Reese DualCam WD/ sway control towing pics. I know there have been several posts about towing and weight distributing hitches. I've used the Reese DC setup for more than a decade on several different tow vehicles and different trailers, and have always been pleased with both the wd balancing as well as the sway control that is part of the design.

First pic is complete setup
Second pic shows the towing mirrors I use
Last pic is a gratuitous pic of the full rig, race car inside. Notice the correct GC ride height, that is the WD leveling everything, not the Summit 4 wheel air bags carrying the weight.

Re: Reese DualCam for towing

Thanks for sharing. Since the Jeep will always self level back up to its original wheel level measurements, I assume this won't always be the case (get back to level without QL)? What I have done is set up my hitch ball height close to the trailer level ball height pre any setup, then aim for even squat after the WDH is setup. If you end up say 1'' down, QL will take it back up.

Tow911, glad your happy with your WDH. I tow with a Husky Centerline TS WDH.

I've been told that the WDH bars should be as parallel as possible to the trailer A frame.

I noticed that yours are lower toward the rear. Maybe Reese has a different method for there hitches. I guess if it tows well no need to change anything.

You'r right, a traditional WD system should position the spring bars close to parallel to the trailer frame. However the Reese is different. There is more hardware, specifically the cam device that bolts to the trailer frame. The end of the spring bar rides on the cam, and if the spring bars were any higher they'd hit the cam device and would limit the towing to no more than a 15 or 20 degree turn before the pieces hit each other, any more than that and parts break
