Re: Rotella T-6 in our diesel?

OK:

1. I got a new refill of T-6, and yes the oil while still almost black is less so than before, the fill is perfect as well.
1A. There is no flash currently ready, required nor do they believe one will be necessary for either 2014s or 2015s in order to use T-6 simply change to T-6. Love Jeep will only use T-6 in vehicles with this engine from now on.

2. The only flash my car received was audio system related.

3. The recall S-27? does nothing to change accelerator pedal or x-misison driving parameters.
*The tech did make a mechanical adjustment to my pedal - so I'm not crazy it does feel better.

4. All in all I'm very happy with the outcome.

Thanks for the info. If this is the same dealership you've used before for oil changes, was there a substantial reduction in cost of materials with the T-6?

I bought the 4 oil changes + 4 filters deal for $180. IIRC the 1 off deal with T-6 is right at $80 - just for oil and filter. So the 4x deal works for me. The deal sunsets in 24 months but I change my oil at 5K miles away so it works perfectly for me.

The main takeaway is the T-6 is without question the proper oil going forward (most all of us think that and now Jeep has made it official with supplement #7). If someone just did a PZL 5W-30 Eruo L change I wouldn't worry a bit unless I was a regular very hard tow-er in Phoenix or out West or whatever or maybe a long stop and go commuter in Atlanta, Dallas or similar in the heat.

Love Jeep seems a bit ahead of the curve because Dallas is big time pick-up country and the dealership has who knows how many 3.0 TD Dodge trucks out there, many pulling every day. I get the feeling some of the techs have been pushing for T-6 for a while.

Found this the other day while looking for low-temp pour viscosity oil. $21/gallon. Meets the new Cummins spec, which is supposedly word for word identical of the new FCA spec. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1476654029.108106.jpg

That is the oil recommended in the new spec. Not a find. Price is on par with what I get in a 2.5gal jug at the local farm store, gallon for gallon.

This is were your wrong - because the standard T6 is what is called for. This particular T6 - if you would of actually looked at the label before making a stupid comment - is extreme temperature, meaning that it is formulated for much colder temps. Lower temperature pour point, better viscosity at extreme.

No. Looks like the same product in slightly different packaging. Can you point out the differences in the pics?

Re: Rotella T-6 in our diesel?

The one you claim as 'regular' also states extreme temperature.

Re: Rotella T-6 in our diesel?

Looks like just a new label. I don't think specs are different between the 2 posted pics.

As stated, both are extreme temperature.
