Scraping Metal Noise While Slowing

Hey all,
Wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I'm intermittently getting a scraping metal noise from the front left wheel area when I'm slowing. It rarely happens when I'm accelerating. Happens most often when I'm slowing and applying the brakes or slowing and turning to the right.

It's driving me nuts. It sounds like an aluminum tin can bring lightly dragged. I feel like it's two pieces of metal coming into contact and one is moving, like something in the wheel assembly.

What could it be?

Check brakepads, maybe split.

A rock stuck between a shield and a rotating part?

I'm wondering if it's this. The sound is like something is rubbing up against the backing plate for the drum. I crawled under to investigate and I'm 100% confident that something is hittin against the rotor and the backing plate. Like either the backing plate is loose or something is bumping it into the rotor

Had the dealer take a look today. Turns out the backing plate was too close to the rotor and causing the noise. They just moved it back a little. Haven't heard it since

No problem. Crawl under the car and rake your fingers, or another piece of metal, against that plate that sits behind the drum. Whatever tire it is ask them to back it away from the rotor. That's what stooped mine.
