My key chain broke... it was too huge for my key fob anyway.

Yeah sending a notice to say please drive your car like a car and be safe did seem a little silly.

Sure, blame the key chain. Sounds like operator error to me

No No No...the screw fell out and got lost in my purse. That means it's a defect and I can return to the whole car...right?

Shifter Recall

I'm suspecting that shifter recall fix will happen sooner than later....

According to news post, actor Anton Yelchin killed by his own 2015 Jeep GC, one that had the recall pending....

I just said that to my son. Mine has never rolled though I could see how it happens if your in a hurry. Too bad such a young guy was the first death.

Be careful and always use your parking break!

Re: Shifter Recall

It is finicky however there are two visual indicators to tell you if it is in gear or park or whatever. Thing is our habit pattern as humans is to use the tactical feel of where it is since virtually all shifters until recent work that way.
What a shame to loose your life this way but there are plenty of indicators to let you know what is going on.
It would make sense to me for this model or other vehicles (BMW has shifters like this) to provide a warning not to use any tactical feel to judge shifter position but verify visually the position.

I have heard of some reporting the shifter popping out of whatever position it is in but in my 42K miles I have never experienced that. If that happened that makes this more than a nanny issue but a huge issue to be corrected. What I have seen and experienced is the finicky part where you move the level and it doesn't respond so you do it again until it does. Frustrating once in a while but not dangerous unless you don't verify...
