Re: Significant oil leak

As for the service manager's claims, it all sounds legit to me. I really do believe you'll be just fine.

Re: Significant oil leak

And other than trial and error how do we just find a better dealership? Chrysler doesnt rate their service depts anymore and all dealerships are likely to have a couple good techs and some crappy techs....

You may have some success checking the dealer's website to see if they have a customer comment/rating section. If so I'm sure you'll know what to do with your current dealer! (I have 3 dealers to choose from and will probably go to the one farthest away based on customer satisfaction.)

Of course this is the same dealer whose service manager told me the TSB's I see here on Jeep Garage are bogus. Not a good sign.

Re: Significant oil leak

No such website ratings and almost all google ratings for dealerships are solely based on car buying process not service dept.

Re: Significant oil leak

Well that website at least tells you if the review is rating service or sales, of course the dealer who just screwed up my oil change is the one rated the highest though.

they have messed up 3 of the 5 things they have done to my new jeep.

Sorry 'bout that. Of course I haven't been to a dealer in many years and have my favorite service providers that have proven themselves over many years. Problem is with a new car warranty some things have to be done at a dealership.

Re: Significant oil leak

Well good news, took off the oil pan brush guard...my oil leak appears to only be from when they replaced the oil filter and did not follow the guidelines of the OIL FILTER TSB. They gushed a bunch of oil when they put the new filter in and it ran all the way down the engine to the oil pan. I sprayed engine parts cleaner and cleaned up the entire area. I drained a quart of oil and is now just a hair below the max fill line. All is well and will report back if any oil appears.
