Oy. Good luck with that!

They did that with ours twice and it still leaks.

Re: Significant oil leak

So the dealership changed the upper oil pan gasket. Which was a huge job requiring the removal of the front differential. They also did all the recalls and tsbs while it was in. They had my jeep for 10 days. They paid for a rental car, filled my jeep gas tank and gave me $60 to cover the bill from my local garage when we had to drain the overfill and remove the skidplate.
Althought i wish it had never happened, they stepped up as much as they could to make it right.
i got the jeep back today. It ran fine for the 40 miles i put on it today. I will be driving 2hrs home tomorrow and will be dropping the skidplate next week just to check and make sure it isnt still leaking.
Between the free car rental, free tank of gas and reimbursement for the local service charges i am happy with the effort Dean (service advisor) and Huntington Beach Jeep put in to trying to make it right.
I will report back next week, hopefully to tell you all there is no more leak.

As I mentioned, they replaced the upper sump gasket on ours twice. It still leaks. Ours went in again for the 20, 000km service, and they looked again. They have now ordered a new sump, and will fit when it arrives.
Im interested, have you had a look under your car? Check to see if the ABS brake cables have been cable tied to the suspension. In the factory they are clipped to the suspension, but appatently when they have to pull the hubs off the clips snap, and the only fix is cable ties. Piss poor I say!

Re: Significant oil leak

I wont have it up on a lift until late next week. At that point i will check to see if its still leaking and check the abs cables and everything else they may have removed and reinstalled.

3rd time upper and lower sump gaskets

4th time they replaced the sump itself.

This seems to have worked the best, but still not perfect. Oil no longer hits the garage floor in drops but appears to be a very fine mist. I looked under the car, and it looks like a sweaty residue all over the sump. Getting it looked at again next week.
I fear I am heading down the same path - 4th time in and they have had it for over 2 weeks and they are now waiting on the Jeep State Service manager for ideas because they just can't stop the leak!!! Grrrr!

Re: Significant oil leak

...latest is they are now removing the transmission as apparently the sump is constructed in two pieces and may be leaking from near the transmission!!!!

Re: Significant oil leak

Just as a bump to this - my otherwise flawless 2015 (1K miles) has started dripping oil. Seems to come from driver-side mid vehicle. Brought to dealer and they claimed it was AC condenser dripping (LOL) so left it there for them to look a bit closer. Fingers crossed it is just a loose hose or something.
